NEW JERSEY

2017

New Jersey will elect a Governor, Members of the State Senate, and Members of the State Assembly in 2017.

General Election voter registration deadline – October 17, 2017

General Election date – November 7, 2017

Early voting –

In person – Early voting in person is not permitted.

By mail – Any voter may vote early by mail, no excuse required. 

Applications for absentee/vote-by-mail ballots for the General Election must be received by mail no later than October 31, 2017 or in person no later than 3:00 P.M. on November 6, 2017. 

Absentee ballots must be received no later than 8:00 P.M. on Election Day.

2018

New Jersey will elect a U.S. Senator in 2018.

Primary Election voter registration deadline – May 15, 2018

Primary Election date – June 5, 2018


General Election voter registration deadline – October 16, 2018

General Election date – November 6, 2018

Early voting – 

In person – Early voting in person is not permitted.

By mail – Any voter may vote early by mail, no excuse required. 

Applications for absentee/vote-by-mail ballots must be received by mail no later than seven days before the election.  A voter may bring his or her application in person to the County Clerk no later than 3:00 P.M. on the day before the election. 

Absentee ballots must be received no later than 8:00 P.M. on Election Day.
