Early voting –
In person – Voting early in person is not permitted.
By mail – A voter may vote early by mail if he: will be unavoidably absent from his county or city (if a resident of NYC) on Election Day; will be unable to appear at the polls due to illness or disability; is a patient in a Veterans’ Administration Hospital; is detained in jail awaiting Grand Jury action or confined in prison after conviction for an offense other than a felony.
Applications for absentee/vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked no later than November 1, 2016. Voters can apply in person for an absentee ballot until November 7, 2016. Absentee/vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked no later than the day before the election or delivered in person to the Board of Elections by Election Day.
