Oregon will elect a Governor and a U.S. Senator in 2016.
General Election voter registration deadline – October 18
Oregon is the first state in the country to have automatic voter registration for those who visit their Department of Motor Vehicles office to apply for an original, renewed, or duplicate driver’s license or ID. Others may register online or in person at their county elections office.

Early voting – All voting in Oregon is done by mail. Ballots will be mailed to voters
automatically 14 to 18 days before an election. If a voter wants to vote earlier, he
may request an absentee ballot up to 45 days before an election. All ballots must
be received at the county election office or designated County Drop Box by the
closing of polls on Election Day.
A voter may return his or her ballot at a County Drop Box instead of using
