Texas will elect a Governor and a U.S. Senator in 2018

Primary Election voter registration deadline – February 5, 2018

Primary Election date – March 6, 2018

General Election voter registration deadline – October 9, 2018

General Election – November 6, 2018

Early voting –

In person –  Any registered voter may vote early in person, no excuse needed. 

Early in-person voting for the Primary Election runs from February 20 through March 2, 2018; for the General Election, from October 22 through November 2, 2018.

By mail –  A person may vote early by mail only if he meets one of four requirements: will be away from his county on Election Day and during early voting; is sick or disabled; is 65 years of age or older on Election Day; or is confined in jail, but still eligible to vote.         

Requests for early-voting-by-mail ballots for the Primary Election must be received by February 23, 2018; for the General Election, by October 26, 2018.

Mailed ballots must be received by election officials by 7:00 PM on

Election Day or must be postmarked by Election Day and received the day after Election Day.
