Early Voting in WEST VIRGINIA

In person - Any registered voter may vote early in person at the County Clerk's Office or other designated area in the voter's County Courthouse between April 23 and May 10 for the Primary and October 15 and November 1 for the General Election.  To contact the County Clerk's office for more information, see the directory at www.wvsos.com/service/rosters/countyclerks.htm

By mail - A voter may only vote absentee by mail if he will be traveling outside his county of residence during the entire three weeks before the election, is attending school away from home, is in the military or living outside the country, is disabled, physically ill, or is of very advanced age.  The voter may request an absentee ballot from his County Clerk by phone, fax, or e-mail or he may fill out and download an application for an absentee ballot at www.wvsos.com/forms/elections/A2.pdf (PDF format).  Requests for absentee ballots must be received by the County Clerk no later than May 7 for the Primary and October 29 for the General Election.  Absentee ballots must be received by mail or returned in person to the County Clerk by the day before the election.
