I will never refer to them as "accidents" or "mistakes"

I hope my story helps young women who find themselves in similar situations.

I was 21, facing a pregnancy that came as a huge surprise to me. I will never refer to them as "accidents" or "mistakes", as I believe God has a plan for us all. I had two kids already, ages 2 and 1, from a marriage that ended. I felt scared and very uncertain about everything. My worry increased when I told the father and his automatic reaction was abortion. Through the following weeks his opinion did not change. I went in to my doctors for my first ultrasound, and even though my baby was so tiny, I felt comfort and relief in hearing her heartbeat. My pregnancy was a difficult one, but all of my problems didn't seem to matter when I imagined what my beautiful baby girl would look like. When she was born early, she was placed in the NICU for 2 weeks, and I was there everyday with her. It made me realize how precious life really is. I remained strong during her unborn life and she remained strong when she was brought into this world not yet prepared. I am now currently in school to become a NICU Nurse, which her life inspired me to do. Everyday I look at her and thank her for the meaning she has brought to my life. All of my kids are a blessing and I could not imagine life without them. I chose life and in return my life has been full of joy.
