Irrevocable commitment both to the Catholic priesthood and to the
uncompromising, unwavering defense of unborn children
December 6, 2011
Dear Friends,
As we progress toward Christmas, I wanted to give you the assurance that
I’m doing fine as I continue my fulltime pro-life work from my temporary
residence here at the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, a wonderful
charismatic, Franciscan community of Sisters in Prayer Town, TX (see
www.dljc.org). All of our Priests for Life projects are moving full speed
ahead and our Advisory Board of Bishops, with whom I recently met, are fully
supportive.
I want to share with you today this
special document, which I
signed in 2006, along with Bishop Yanta. It represents what’s in my heart
and soul, that is, my irrevocable commitment both to the Catholic priesthood
and to the uncompromising, unwavering defense of unborn children, on a full
time basis for the rest of my life. What’s in the heart and soul of someone
who makes a commitment does not go away with a stroke of a pen. And the
Church supports this kind of commitment and, in fact, calls for it, based on
the Biblical mandate to give our very lives for one another.
May I finally ask you to double your usual donation to Priests for Life
as we come to the end of this year. Some people, not knowing all the facts
of the present circumstance, have hesitated to continue their giving. That
would not be a problem, were it not for the fact that the daily
dismemberment and decapitation of children continues in abortion clinics. It
does continue, and we need money to work to try to stop it. So please be
generous, at
www.priestsforlife.org/donate.
Talk to you soon.
Merry Christmas!
