Tsk, Tsk Congressman Stupak

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

How can the dream survive if we murder our children, Congressman Stupak? My uncle Dr. Martin Luther King once said that the measure of a man can be found in where he stands in times of controversey. Shame on you for trying to deflect the truth of what you did by saying that we prolifers have lost our mission. Not so, it is you who traded horses in the middle of the stream, not us. Tsk, tsk, shame on you!

Congressman Bart Stupak told Detroit News columnist Mitch Albom, “Maybe these so-called groups for life are not really standing up for the sanctity of life. Maybe they’re there for political purposes. Maybe they’ve lost their mission.” Stupak made the remarks in response to the criticism he’s been receiving from pro-life groups.

School sends girl alone in cab to get an abortion, did not inform mother

Friday, March 26th, 2010

At the Seattle high school where an on-campus health clinic sent a 15-year-old girl off in a taxi by herself to get an abortion during school hours, the consent form that parents sign to allow their children to use the clinic during the year does not mention “abortion,” only “reproductive-health care.” The girl’s mother had no idea that the form she signed would result in her daughter getting an abortion. An official of the high school clinic said, “Not every individual is aware of what is included in ‘reproductive-health care.’ We’re going to work constructively with our partners and experts in adolescent health to strategize the best ways to communicate that.”

Giving “teeth” to President Obama’s no abortion funding Executive Order

Friday, March 26th, 2010

“What if the 90+ percent of African American voters who helped to elect President Obama began to blog, twitter, call and write the White House in support of the order?
“Thanks to Maafa21 and other eugenics and Black genocide awareness projects sweeping the nation, African Americans are realizing that we are being targeted by the abortion industry.
“How about it Black people? In fact, all people of goodwill? Abolitionists and Freedom Fighters alike! Let the President know how we feel about his Executive order. Ask him to put some teeth into it, some steam behind it!
“Black Empowerment, and yes all human rights includes speaking up and out for what we know is right. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for everyone from natural conception to natural death, procreative reproductive health–that’s the order of the day. How can the dream survive if we murder our children? Be silent no more, say yes to the civil rights of life!” Dr. Alveda King, founder King for America and Director of African American Outreach, Priests for Life.

Health Care Reform raises a “Clarion Call to Conscience” says Dr. Alveda King

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

This is edited from yesterday…

Every United States president dreams of making a landmark contribution during his (or one day her) term of office. For President Obama, this contribution is “Health Care Reform.” When the air clears, hopefully people will be able to once again think logically rather than emotionally, and consider the ramifications of this decision.

As a Christian, I can’t help thinking that Queen Esther had her King Xerxes, Daniel faced King Nebuchadnezzar, Joseph faced Pharaoh, and Moses faced Pharaoh sans the favor of Joseph’s day. Then, Paul faced King Agrippa. In some instances, the kings came to fear God. In each instance, each Bible hero or heroine had a defining moment where the choice was to allow God to use them for His glory, or to judge the ungodly behavior of their respective rulers, and turn away from them in disgust. In most cases, these Bible legends were able to influence their rulers for the good of the people.

Today the Prolife Movement faces President Obama. Do we allow offense to prevent us from praying for him and for America, or do we press on in the battle to uncover the evils of abortion, eugenics and genocide regardless of the stand of our nation’s leaders?
Our battle is not about which humans are right and which humans are wrong. The battle isn’t about Democrats and Republicans. God is not a Democrat or a Republican!

As Christians, we must continue to shine the light of love and truth, to pray for those in authority, and to resist evil practices. The health care reform is primarily an extension of Medicare, with all of the political hype being about distracting the public while the dirty deals are being cut behind the scene (on both sides of the isle mind you).
Appropriate legislation could have been passed to serve the 32 million needing health care with a lot less pain, fanfare and money. Instead of being expedient, some of our political “leaders” have been greedy.
That being said, we must still remain encouraged. We must press on for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for everyone from conception to natural death. Procreative reproductive health should be a mantra for any health care packaging. Abortion must be excluded from every law and tax budget on every level of government.
Finally, we must elect political leaders who will listen to the voice of the people. Americans choose life! This is our defining moment, our Clarion Call to Conscience. We must stay focused and press on towards the mark!

Health Care Reform remains a defining moment for Christians!

Appropriate legislation could have been passed to serve the 32 million needing health care with a lot less pain, fanfare and money. Instead of being expedient, our political “leaders” have been greedy as usual, and lot of pockets have been lined, make no mistake about it. That being said, we must still remain encouraged. Congressmen Cao and Bishop spin a new “Tale of Two Cities” or at least two states

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

It is the best of times, and the worst of times in America, and Congressmen Joseph Cao and Sanford Bishop are in the eye of the storm…

Dickens’ fictious characters lived in Paris and London before and during the French Revolution.

Our real life members of Congress, Cao (R) and Bishop (D) live in Lousiana and Georgia respectively. While Dickens wrote of the French Revolution, America is at the peak of a defining moment. One might say that the health care bill is revolutionary and we are living in times that could determine whether millions of unborn babies live or die, times that will alter the course of countless other lives.

Cao and Bishop are two men from disparate (different) backgrounds, cities, and parties, yet both are dealing with the same life or death question. If they vote against the current Health Care (or Death Care depending on your perspective) Bill, it could effect their upcoming bids for re-election.

They are in the forefront of the battle, yet there are many other elected officials at the federal and state levels who are faced with the same question: what is right? Do I vote for what is right even though it can loose me my seat? Well gentlemen, there is much more at stake than political power. What about our souls. These are truly the times that try men’s (and women’s) souls. It is the best of times, and the worst of times…

Surprise on CBS “The Good Wife”

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Okay, I like to use film, music and movies to make a point. But really, this one is as good as the Law and Order Show that dealt with abortion. If you don’t watch the CBS “The Good Wife” series, maybe you could check out the one from last night.

The wife is a junior law assistant, her husband is a “fallen” DA or something. He’s at home in leg monitor on at home jail time. He cheated on her with a prostitute, although that may or may not have been somewhat of a setup? He lied on the stand, to protect his family he says. Last night, an African American Pastor led him in a “come to Jesus” moment, while the wife was involved in a case that debated abortion and showed pictures of the inutero surgery of the little baby that is so popular. A couple wanted surgery to save the life of their baby boy in her womb. Turns out, the emotional mother had a history of pro-choice activism, but now wants to argue that her baby is a baby and not a fetus… Check it out. No matter what happens next on the show, it was dramatic to say the least!

Please support and encourage your members of Congress and state legistators to pass anti-coersion legislation

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

1. A Tennessee House committee on Tuesday passed legislation to require any hospital or clinic that performs abortions to post a sign stating that it is illegal to coerce a woman to have an abortion. The measure would also require a woman to give written consent to an abortion.

H.B. 1155 “Prenatal Non-discrimination Act” (PreNDA)
by Mike Griffin, Legislative Director

This piece of bipartisan legislation was introduced in the Georgia House by our good friend Representative Barry Loudermilk and cosigned by 5 other Representatives. Four out of the first six names are African Americans and two out of the six are Democrats. The bill would make it a crime for anyone attempting to coerce or solicit a female to abort based on the race or sex of her unborn child would be guilty of a crime. It also would be a crime to perform an abortion, while knowing it was motivated by the baby’s race or sex. Likewise, it would be a crime to perform abortions intended to control the population of a specific race or sex.

Pregnant women targeted for criminal solicitation of abortion would not be criminally or civilly liable. Victims of violations could recover all damages available under state tort law, as well as damages for the homicide of an unborn child. Systemic violations of abortion law could be prosecuted under the corrupt organization statute and harmed individuals would have a private cause of action. Convicted abortionists could be sentenced to prison for one to ten years.

H.B. 1155 is partly based upon existing federal legislation that Congressman Trent Franks of Arizona introduced last year in the U.S. Congress. Our bill, like his, would make it illegal to abort a child for reasons of sex or race or the race of their parents. Note the evidence from the outline below that shows some of the reasons justifying this kind of legislation:

1) In 2008, blacks made up 30% of the population but over 59% of the abortions in Georgia.

2) In 2008, Georgia had 18,901 black abortions – which is the highest reported number of black abortions in the U.S. (in the 37 states that report.)

3) Because of targeting, 94% of the abortion clinics nationwide are located in urban areas where blacks reside.

4) As a result of coercion and solicitation, black women abort their babies 3 times the rate of white women.

5) Prenatal sex selection is available in the United States and worldwide.

6) Young Georgia women pregnant with bi-racial babies have been coerced into abortion to prevent mixed-race births.

American Idol, StayTeen.org and Planned Parenthood: Promoting Sex, Abortion

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

There is a dangerous and subtle shift in the cultural impact of American Idol. AI fans should let AI know that messages that promote premarital sex and abortion hurt our culture…

American Idol, StayTeen.org and Planned Parenthood: Promoting Sex, Abortion

by Kortney Blythe
March 5, 2010

LifeNews.com Note: Kortney Blythe oversees the Rock for Life chapters and street teams throughout the nation to encourage continued activism and assist them in persevering in the battle to restore personhood to pre-born children.

While watching American Idol, a commercial came on that caught my attention. An amateurish-looking home video showed two giddy, laughing teenage girls jumping on a trampoline, acting goofy. Then a voiceover said:

“I love my life. I’m not gonna mess it up with a pregnancy.”

And a web site flashed on the screen: Stayteen.org.

Being the abortion abolitionist I am, I immediately opened my laptop to check it out. At first, I was pleasantly surprised. The web site, which is funded by a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, strongly advised waiting to have sex.

Among the various messages were myths about sex, lists of compelling reasons why abstinence is best and even a mention of how TV and movies portray sex as having no repercussions. In addition, they impressively differentiated between lust and love, and recognized the physical and emotional consequences attached to sex.

According to their bullet points, not everybody is doing it. Nearly 70 percent of teens wish they had waited to have sex and 94 percent want a strong abstinence message.

But, as I expected, that was the end of the good news. After leaving the “abstinence” section and perusing the rest of the site, I came upon the “help and advice” section. Who took the top spot under the first three resource topics?

Planned Parenthood.

Yes, that bastion of abortion, libertine sex (for the young and old) and the undermining of parents and purity. To appease parents and the general public, Planned Parenthood occasionally uses the word abstinence in their propaganda. But when mentioned, it is nearly always followed with a “but” and some nonsense about realizing how unrealistic it is; thus undermining the whole purpose of promoting it.

It’s disturbingly contradictory for a web site that claims to want to prevent teen pregnancy and promote abstinence to send young people to Planned Parenthood for questions about “sex, protection, contraception…STDs…[and] emergency contraception.”

Once again, our government (and whoever else was involved in this site) fails to grasp the mixed messages they are sending to kids when they view such a web site.

A show like American Idol is watched by families with kids of varying ages. Many of them will visit StayTeen.org because of the captivating commercial. Unfortunately, the site perpetuates the false message that “abstinence is good, but since it’s probably not realistic, use contraception.” Until parents start consistently teaching their children and teens lifelong chastity, the rates of teen pregnancy, STDs and premarital sex at younger and younger ages will continue to rise.

No amount of confusing web sites will change the statistics.
