Election Update – Emotions, Media Bias, Pray

Yesterday in The Daily Beast and other “news” outlets, Mr. Donald Trump was falsely accused of “blowing off” the pro life movement by cancelling or reneging on an invitation to speak to pro life leaders.

This is not true. I was at the meeting, and Mr. Trump did not reject any invitation. There was no meeting with Mr. Trump scheduled in the first place.

I personally have met Mr. Trump and have spoken with his staff and supporters on a regular basis, and find them very open to pro life discussions. I remain saddened by the “winner take all by any means necessary” affront that is being promulgated in this election season.

As a Christian Evangelist, I no longer endorse political candidates. I am called to pray for everyone, including all leaders.

“The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.” – 1 Timothy 2:1-3 MSG

While I sometimes privately offer support and advice to various candidates, In this election I urge Americans to pray and repent; and vote responsibly; and to not indulge in emotional mudslinging and lies.

Day Gardner, who has endorsed Mr. Trump was at the meeting in question, and has this to say regarding the scandalous lies about Mr. Trump blowing off pro life leaders yesterday:

“Day Gardner, President, National Black Pro-Life Union: Today’s article put out by Daily Beast about Trump blowing off a meeting with pro-lifers is unreal. It didn’t happen. How do I know? I was in that meeting. Donald Trump was not on the agenda and had no commitment to participate in any way in that meeting.”

According to Fr. Frank Pavone, who was at the meeting in question, he said this is what happened:

“Our organization reaches out to candidates regularly. Many of these conversations are off the record. But in fairness, let me make clear that Mr. Trump did not break any commitments to speak to me or any gathering I organize. On the contrary, I have had very friendly and fruitful interactions with him and members of his team and look forward to continuing that dynamic.”

Gardner went on to say: “This is an inside hatchet job of epic proportions from person(s) who will go to any lengths to blackball Donald Trump.

“For those who want to look the other way when dirt is flying, check your rear view mirrors. This is just another dirty ploy to eat away at Trump’s voters.

“America can be great again if we can get the liars who are attacking him off the road.”

Pray for Justice and Gosnell’s Soul as Trial Rapidly Approaches a Close

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013

Today the defense rested their case with Gosnell deciding not to testify in his own defense and not calling a single witness.

Closing arguments will begin on Monday and then it’s up to the jury to come up with a just verdict.

In the meantime, everyone needs to continue to keep tweeting and posting statuses on Facebook to keep this case and the atrocities that occurred in the West Philadelphia Women’s Medical Society in the forefront of the media.

Some material for Twitter and Facebook:

Tomorrow on C-Span at 5:00 pm ET Members of Congress will be giving one minute speeches from the floor of the Capital about Gosnell and the trial. You can watch live at cspan.com or on C-Span on cable. Please get the work out to all your friends and acquaintances.

Get the word out: Fox News is doing a documentary on Gosnell that will air on Sunday, May 5 at 9:00 pm ET following Huckabee.

There are still many in America that still don’t know the harm abortion does to babies, women, men, the family, and our nation. We need to remain diligent in education the public.

Dr. Alveda King on Site at Gosnell Trial

Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013
Alveda King and Bryan Kemper at the murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell

Alveda King and Bryan Kemper at the murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell

Breaking report: Gosnell still charged with 4 counts baby murder and one adult; violation of 24 hour notice. He was acquitted of three baby murders and all 5 charges of abuse of corpse.

Many seem to agree that the atrocities at the West Philadelphia Women’s Medical Society perpetrated by late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell should never have occurred and that Gosnell deserves to be punished.

At least that’s what’s unfolding now that the trial has been brought to the forefront of the nation by efforts of life affirming bloggers and social media advocates.

In the opening update above, we see that the judge agreed with some of the charges which could still cause Gosnell to be punished for some of the terrible things he has done, just some.

It’s a tragedy that unjust legal loopholes like unclear evidence of issues like gestational age and size made partial acquittal possible. Our laws are too corrupt and weak to fully protect the human rights and dignity of our babies and their vulnerable mothers.

Prior to a TweetFest on Friday, April 12 and then again on Wednesday, April 17 organized by Bryan Kemper, youth director of Priests for Life, and Andy Moore, AbortionWiki, there seemed to be a media blackout of the trial. Additionally, almost nobody from the pro-abortion movement was saying anything either.

Finally, liberals had the guts to admit that they were squashing the story.

Now that the media has been moved into covering the trial many are all too eager to comment and condemn the actions of abortionist Kermit Gosnell. Unfortunately, still grappling with the injustice of it all, some don’t stop there.

Trapped into what is currently being defined as the growing “mushy middle,” they then go on to spin their lies by blaming pro-life activists for the creation of such a monster by all the pro-life legislation being promoted to better regulate the abortion industry and enforce regulations that already exist.

Don’t be deceived by spin when they say that Gosnell is the exception: he’s not. Gosnell is NOT the exception to the bogus rule that abortion is safe and rare. 2,000 women, including me, have filed an Amicus brief with the US Supreme Court about how abortion hurt us.

They say that Gosnell is a throwback to pre Roe v Wade days and back alley abortions: he’s not. This is happening now, post Roe v Wade. In Sunday’s Washington Post, some are still saying that abortion ranks high among safe med procedures–they are accusing Gosnell of being a back alley abortionist and an exception to the rule.

WRONG! As Father Frank Pavone says, “Gosnell is the rule!” These types of atrocities are happening all over America right now in under and unregulated abortion mills.

Gosnell is NOT the only one committing these atrocities. Hundreds of women have died from legal abortions. A list of nearly 400 is currently on file and can be viewed at safeandlegal.com. The new documentary, Voice of John, the Florida case of the live baby thrown on the roof, and a new website, AbortionDocs.org are but a few examples of unsafe and definitely not rare abortions.

David Grimes, former head of CDC abortion surveillance branch said recently that the problems with abortion are so small the CDC surveillance branch NO LONGER EXISTS. He said over 1000 women/yr. died from abortion in 1940s and it’s less than a handful a year.

On the contrary, we know that there’s a really big handful of hurts from abortion yearly. SILENTNOMOREAWARENESS.ORG has the testimonies of hundreds upon hundreds of women that have been harmed by abortion.

Rachael’s Vineyard ministry, healing after abortion, now offers over 950 healing retreats annually in 48 states and 57 countries, to help women and men that have been harmed by abortion. Their retreat manual has been translated into 22 languages. (Figures as of 2012)

So don’t believe lies and half truths. Abortion is evil. Abortion hurts women and kills human persons (babies and mothers). Abortion must be abolished. Gosnell is just the tip of the iceberg quickly melting in the fires of truth.

GOSNELL-Radiance

Today I bring you a guest blog from my good friend and colleague.

By Ryan Bomberger, Radiance Foundation
April 15, 2013

Mainstream media and especially pro-abortion liberal opinionists are desperate to control the narrative on the horrific abortionist, Kermit Gosnell. Ignoring the fact that he is not the exception, but increasingly the rule among abortionists, “pro-choice” media is trying to segregate this case, to isolate the public from the broader truth—that Gosnell is the natural consequence of rabid pro-abortion advocacy.

So the Associated Press, along with HuffPo and other mainstream media outlets are claiming that the poor women who went to the “elegant man” (aka Gosnell) had no choice. They bemoan that Gosnell’s workers had “few options” (because most of Philly’s employed choose jobs where they brutally cut people’s spinal cords and toss around their lifeless bodies like play objects). And they accuse the prolife movement, who has always pushed for abortion clinic regulations and enforcement, of somehow creating Gosnell’s situation. NARAL lamented Gosnell was a “peek into the world before Roe”. No. It’s a peek into the world of limitless abortion (as championed by NARAL, Planned Parenthood, NOW, and other rabidly pro-abortion groups), with no regard for the lives of women and children.

Amanda Marcotte, pro-abortion apologist who writes for Slate.com and the pathologically dishonest RHRealityCheck.com, writes how simple the reason for Gosnell is: “poverty, plus lack of access due to anti-choice activism.”

What a poor excuse. No, really. What a pathetically poor excuse. Philadelphia, which doesn’t record or publish any data on abortion in its city, has no idea who is seeking abortions. In other states/cities that actually track this vital data (like Georgia), college students in attempts to hide who they are, often list themselves as poor or needing financial aid when seeking abortions, which grossly exaggerates the genuine “poverty” status of those having abortions. Even if every patient who went to Gosnell were poor, do we know the repeat abortion rate of his victims? Do we know if they remained trapped in the cycle of poverty? Do we know how many were on Medicaid? Marcotte and her abortion cohorts can make up stuff all they want, but they can’t conjure a reality where abortion magically cures poverty or strengthens women shackled by circumstances unimproved by killing the life within them.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, women (ages 18-64) are . . .

Pro-Life Leaders Will Hold Press Conference Concerning Gosnell Murder Trial Developments

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013

130403 blog image

I’m in Atlanta with family preparing to commemorate April 4 memorial to MLK death, while my friends Rev. Clenard Childress and THE VISION co-host Dr. Day Gardner are in Philadelphia reporting on the Kermit Gosnell trial that the mainstream media is virtually ignoring. They know that coverage of this trial would expose how horrific and unjust abortion really is. We all need to work together to make sure that all life affirming laws are just and moral laws. Then they are to be enforced and upheld. Finally, more life affirming laws must be passed.

As my Uncle ML once said, “A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law.”

Roe v. Wade is as unjust as they get. We need to reverse it if we are to ever expect our “prayer” of “God bless America” to ever be answered. It’s said so often at the end of political speeches while those saying it vote for unjust laws. It doesn’t make any sense.

Please share the information about the press conference and ask your local papers and stations to cover it.

She made history when, as Miss Delaware, she became the first black woman to be named as a semi-finalist of the internationally renowned Miss America Pageant, breaking through numerous racial and stereotypical roadblocks for others to follow. She is an outspoken advocate on life issues.

Rev. Clenard ChildressRev. Dr. Clenard Childress, Jr. is a noted community activist, author, and speaker. In 2002, he birthed the Pro-life website Blackgenocide.org. This website was designed to reach the Afro-American Community with the truth about abortion. Pastor Childress is also a member of the National Pro-Life Religious Council of Washington, DC.

cherylsullenger-spaCheryl Sullenger is Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue who writes extensively on abortion abuses. Her complaints filed against abortionists around the nation have brought to light the illegal activity and substandard practices that are pervasive throughout the abortion industry.

“The Gosnell trial is exposing the shoddy nature of the abortion cartel like never before and the shocking truth of how the black community is particularly targeted for abortion. While not every clinic duplicates Gosnell’s ‘house of horrors,’ there are aspects of his appalling practices present in nearly every abortion clinic in the country,” said Sullenger.

Operation Rescue is one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation and has become a strong voice for the pro-life movement in America.

Wake Up Church

Friday, November 30th, 2012

Shame on Jamie. And shame on all the people that listened on, stood up, clapped and cheered his remarks. And more shame on Christian preachers who are still celebrating President Obama’s re-election. I pray that someone realizes that babies civil rights and natural life, marriage and family are under attack. Time to pray for revival and repentance.

At the 2012 Soul Train Awards on November 25 Jamie Foxx said this: “First of all, giving honor to God and our lord and savior Barack Obama. Barack Obama.”

This startling statement by Mr. Foxx reflects a genuinely sad sentiment of too many misguided voters, of all ethnic and denominational persuasions. Remember that all classes of people reelected Mr. Obama.

When I tell people that they don’t need to worship President Obama they say, “I’m not worshiping President Obama.”

But then when we hear Jamie Foxx on the Soul Train Awards and the people cheering, you have to wonder.

So this is outrageous; people worshiping President Obama. And I know people do that. With regards to my Uncle Martin I’ve always said, “Please do not worship Martin Luther King, Jr. When you go to that Memorial, thank God that He gave us such a man of God who was not perfect but served a perfect God and He loved you and tried to communicate that as best as he could.” Worship God not the man.

So I just think it’s outrageous. People do worship President Obama. Oh my God! Forgive us Father!

Pray for preachers and people alike. This is a perfect occasion for preachers to take exception and teach the people who Jesus Christ is.

It’s a sin and a shame for Christian preachers to let the comedians preach blasphemy while the Church looks on from the sidelines.

We, the Church, need to wake up.

Wake up preachers! Wake up Church!

Why did so many vote for President Obama in 2008?

Tuesday, August 28th, 2012

As an African American, as a woman, as a Christian, and as human being, I’ve been asking myself, “Why did no many people vote for President Obama in 2008 – why????”

Why did over 50% of Catholics…

Why did over 90% of African Americans…

Why did so many Christians…

Why did so many women…

Vote for the most abortion supporting, homosexual marriage supporting, trash the economy supporting President in American History??????

Why did President Obama win the women’s vote in 2008?

President Obama appeals to women’s need for independence and control over their bodies and their reproductive freedom. This desire for women’s rights is not a bad desire. But women still believe that abortion and contraceptives are health care. They are not! Abortion kills babies and even women.

And the population that is harmed the most by abortion is the Black women. Case in point is Tonya Reaves who died on July 20, 2012 after having a botched abortion at a Planned Parenthood killing center in Chicago, Illinois.

Why a woman would vote for a candidate who promises health benefits and delivers death is beyond me – except for the fact that we know that people are being deceived. The lie is that abortion and contraceptives are health care. The truth is that health care prevents sickness and cures disease. A baby is not a sickness, a pregnancy is not a disease. But the so called cure of abortion and contraceptives kill babies and harm women.

People do not have all of the facts. There are harmful side effects from using contraceptives and getting abortions; increased risks of breast cancer, cervical cancer, strokes, heart attacks, suicide, drug and alcohol abuse, and any more.

Women are making important decisions regarding their bodies without having all the necessary information. Abortion and contraception (surgery and drugs) hurt women. They are NOT healthcare.

All too often all across the country, women are being transported to hospitals after botched abortions. You might ask, “why haven’t I heard about this?” The mainstream media doesn’t want to report this information. If you don’t read pro-life blogs regularly, I’m not surprised that you haven’t heard these vital facts.

And forget about the abortion industry telling you the truth. They haven’t done that ever. Just recently I heard of a young lady who was told by an abortion facility that she wasn’t pregnant with a baby but that all it was was “a sac filled with fluid and tissue.”

Women think that President Obama is a friend to women. He is not. He is not pro-life. Abortion is not healthcare. Abortion kills women and abortion kills babies, real human persons in their earliest stages of their development but human persons just the same.

People are misinformed. Let the truth be told.

“Another Wrongful Death In The Name Of Women’s Rights,” says Dr. King

Tuesday, July 24th, 2012

This past Friday Tonya Reaves, 24, died from a hemorrhage after an abortion at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Chicago. While we are deeply saddened by her senseless death, we are also deeply saddened to report that Ms. Reaves joins the ranks of perhaps of hundreds if not thousands of women harmed by legal abortion.

Many people may think that this is a rare occurrence but nothing can be further from the truth. Botched abortions happen all the time and yes some even result in death. Unfortunately, the abortion industry is so under regulated that many of the complications from abortions go unreported or are reported without adding the cause of abortion in the component.

Ms. Reaves unfortunate death is a perfect example of what I’m talking about. The CBS Chicago article states, “Tonya Reaves, 24, died late Friday night from a hemorrhage, with a cervical dilation and evacuation, as well as an intrauterine pregnancy as contributing causes, according to the medical examiner’s office. People, she didn’t die because she was pregnant, she died because she was butchered. Thus terminology may be offensive to some, but her death is more offensive.

“She died after she’d had an abortion at Planned Parenthood at 18 S. Michigan Ave,” according to the medical examiner’s office.”

“Her death was ruled an accident.” Accident, as in they messed up and killed her?

And what did Planned Parenthood have to say about her death?

In a written statement, Planned Parenthood of Illinois CEO Carole Brite said “We were shocked and saddened upon learning of a tragic development at a nearby hospital. Our hearts go out to the loved ones of this patient.

“While legal abortion services in the United States have a very high safety record, a tragedy such as this is devastating to loved ones and we offer our deepest sympathies. Planned Parenthood of Illinois cares deeply about the health and safety of each and every patient. We do not publicly discuss private patient matters and we follow HIPAA laws that forbid the disclosure of patient information.”

But will Planned Parenthood be held responsible? Probably not. Should they? Absolutely.

As Operation Rescue writes in their article, “Abortion deaths like this are completely avoidable. When a woman bleeds to death after an abortion, it is usually an indication of error on the part of the abortionist coupled with a delay in calling for emergency assistance. Planned Parenthood should be held accountable,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue and Pro-Life Nation. “Our heartfelt prayers go out to the victim’s family at this time of tragic loss.”

Carol Everett, an ex. abortionist speaks out in Bloodmoney and tells of the many incidents of botched abortions and the industries lack of care for the safety of the women. Their main goal was to make money, laws and rules be damned.

The mainstream media doesn’t report many similar cases, do the abortion lobby continues to get away with murder.

Only when something as horrific as the case of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, who ran an abortion clinic so macabre that it was called a “House of Horrors” will the media report on it. But check out a pro-life website like Operation Rescue and you will see report after report of botched abortions.

We must start demanding that regulatory agencies start doing their jobs and inspect abortion clinics and if they are found in violation of the law, shut them down.

Women need to be protected from predators that are more interested in the almighty dollar than they are about the safety of their patients.

For years Silent No More Awareness and other concerned citizens have been reporting about the harmful effects of abortion and unnatural birth control remedies. Breast cancer, strokes, heart attacks and other maladies such as the serious and fatal injuries and ultimately deaths are all part of the lies behind the masks of false compassion the abortionists wear.

More civil wrongs in the name of women’s rights. God forbid.

And They Want You To Believe That Abortions Are Safe And Rare!

Derzis Ruling And Award Is A Sin And A Shame

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012

Regarding the Derzis ruling, “The judge has proposed a new legal doctrine: A dangerous abortion clinic is better than no abortion clinic. We beg to differ.” – Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue

To make matters worse, the abortion industry keeps saying this about abortions: We want them to be safe and rare. Yet every time that new laws are proposed that would do just that, they sue for injunctions and try to fight the laws saying how that would make it harder for women to get abortions.

Whether you’re pro-life or pro-choice I would think that any law that would make it safer for women to get abortions would be a welcomed law. That is not the case in many states and certainly not in Mississippi.

Mississippi passed a law that required anyone performing abortions in the state to be a licensed Ob-Gyn and have professional privileges allowing them to admit patients to a local hospital. The Jackson Women’s Health Organization in Jackson, MS, Mississippi’s only abortion mill, has neither.

The law was passed in March and was supposed to have taken effect on July 1, 2012. The Jackson Women’s Health Organization filed suit on June 27 to block the law from going into effect stating that the law was passed as an effort to close down their abortion clinic and not to protect the safety of women. A federal judge granted them a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).

As reported by Operation Rescue, on Friday, July 6 the state filed a brief outlining the health risks to women from the abortion clinic. “The brief, submitted by Special Assistant Attorney General Benjamin Bryant, cited the recent closure of Alabama’s New Woman All Women after the Alabama Department of Public Health discovered 76 pages of violations, including “evidence that clinic staff failed to respond to complaints of post-surgical complications.” New Woman All Women was owned by Diane Derzis, who also owns the Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

“Instead of remedying the violations, Derzis agreed to close the abortion clinic and disaffiliate from any one that might attempt to relicense the facility.

“The State’s brief also cited a lawsuit filed in 2011 by abortionist Joseph Booker, a former employee of the Jackson Women’s Health Organization (JWHO) who sued the clinic “alleging that Derzis had instituted numerous practices that jeopardized the health and safety of patients, including:

• Permitting untrained staff to perform and interpret ultrasounds, despite the fact that accurate ultrasound are vital to the medical safety of patients.
• Pressure from the JWHO administrator to administer RU486 abortion pills in a manner that is “dangerous” and not approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
• Belief that JWHO does not carry malpractice insurance.
• JWHO is jeopardizing patient safety by not using a “local doctor who has hospital admitting privileges” when administering RU486 because of the “real risk of severe hemorrhage” and “the risk of ectopic pregnancy” associated with the drug.

“The State noted that as the Supreme Court abortion rulings currently stand, “the right to abortion services belongs to the women who access those services – not to the physicians who provide them.” Parker has claimed that his right to perform abortions is jeopardized by the new law, when no such Constitutional right exists.”

On July 13, Judge Daniel P. Jordon III ruled that Mississippi House Bill 1390 could go into effect but that the penalties could not be enforced. As Troy Newman said in a statement regarding the ruling, “It is reprehensible that the JWHO should it be allowed to continue to endanger the lives and health of women simply because it is the last abortion clinic in Mississippi. Women deserve better than to have the Court ignore serious health risks inflicted upon them by fly-by-night abortionists who swoop into Mississippi from out-of-state, only to leave the matter of complications to emergency room staff that have to figure out on their own what happened.

The judge has proposed a new legal doctrine: A dangerous abortion clinic is better than no abortion clinic. We beg to differ.”

It seems that every week I read an article about a woman being transported by ambulance to a hospital after complications from an abortion. It seems to be happening even more lately. And to top that many complications associated with abortions go unreported and are misdiagnosed at doctor’s offices and hospitals.

Even the media does a poor job in reporting such incidents. In fact, the bias media plays these incidents down and try to paint abortionists in a better light than many deserve. Such is the case in Mississippi where The Daily Beast did a featured story on Diane Derzis, the owner of the Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The article paints her as if she was a saint, and maybe to pro-abortionists she is, and doesn’t make any mention of any of the safety problems she had in Alabama where she was in violation of a host of safety issues.

I am constantly dumbfounded that the rights of abortionists seem to always be placed ahead of the rights of the patient. Many rulings by judges send the message that abortionists have a right to make millions of dollars performing abortions even if women get hurt or killed. Regulations for abortion clinics are so lax and unenforced that many times clinics are staffed by unqualified personnel.

I’ll leave you with the story of Suzanne who went in for an abortion and came out paralyzed from the neck down and needing a wheelchair to get around. Read more HERE.
