Thank the Senate leadership for the confirmation of
Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch
April 20, 2017
The U.S. Supreme Court once again has a full bench, and the fact that the newest justice, Justice Neil Gorsuch, is a man who respects the Constitution, religious liberty and the sanctity of life is cause for rejoicing.
But first, we should thank the leaders in the U.S. Senate who made this possible.
Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, in particular, deserves our thanks. He stood firm when the Democrats tried to ram through President Obama’s pick, and made it clear that there would not even be any hearings for him. Obama's pick would have been a catastrophe because we already know that Judge Merrick Garland is no friend to religious liberty.
When Democrats threatened to filibuster Justice Gorsuch, Sen. McConnell was unafraid to rely on the so-called “nuclear option,” which really was just a constitutional option and a commonsense "majority rules" provision.
Many of you voted for Donald Trump specifically to ensure that a conservative judge with traditional values would be the next Supreme Court justice. That alone deserves a note of thanks.
Sen. McConnell has taken a beating in the mainstream media so I am sure he would like to hear from pro-lifers like you who understand what he was up against.
So please click here for further instructions on how to thank Senator McConnell and the other Senators who led and won the fight to confirm Justice Gorsuch.
And please send this email to all those you know who may be interested in doing the same!
