Sign a petition to protest abortion as a crime against humanity
February 27, 2019
How would you describe abortion?
While some call it a “right” or a “choice,” we know it is the killing of a baby.
Mother Teresa of Calcutta called it “murder by the mother herself.”
We should also call abortion
A Crime Against Humanity
And with this action alert, I want to invite you to sign a petition saying exactly that – a petition that will be used in Court cases making their way up to the Supreme Court itself.
By definition, a crime against humanity occurs
“when the government withdraws legal protection from a class of human beings.”
With legal abortion, a class of human beings – children in the womb – no longer has the legal protection granted to every other man, woman and child.
It is the greatest injustice in the world today and here in the United States, we are closer to righting this outrageous wrong than we have ever been.
I believe Roe v. Wade will be overturned because that decision meets several of the criteria for overturning a judicial precedent.
For one thing, thanks to ultrasound, we know much more about the child in the womb now than we did in 1973.
We also have the testimonies of thousands of women who have lost children to abortion and how that has severely impacted their lives. Scientific studies – usually ignored or ridiculed by the mainstream media – have documented the deep damage caused by abortion to the mothers and fathers who make this irrevocable choice.
Safe Haven laws also provide mothers with an alternative they did not have in 1973. These laws in all 50 states allow women to leave the hospital without the child or drop the baby off at a Safe Haven within 30, 60 or 90 days of birth. No questions, no legal procedure, no cost. A million Americans are hoping to adopt babies so these Safe Haven babies will find homes.
In addition, Roe has been severely criticized. Federal judges have commented on Roe’s shaky footing.
For instance, in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Judge Edith Jones wrote in her dissent to a 2004 ruling that "In sum, if courts were to delve into the facts underlying Roe's balancing scheme with present day knowledge, they might conclude that the woman's "choice" is far more risky and less beneficial, and the child's sentience far more advanced than the Roe Court knew."
Even pro-abortion Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg suggested in 1993 that the Roe decision went too far, causing abortion advocacy groups to question whether she was even on their side.
There are more than enough reasons why Roe should go, but I need your help in getting this message out.
Our friends at the Justice Foundation in Texas are circulating the Moral Outcry petition that calls abortion a crime against humanity and spells out the reasons Roe v. Wade should and must be reversed.
These reasons are being presented regularly in “Friend of the Court Briefs” in federal court cases regarding abortion. Any of these cases could be used by the Supreme Court to end Roe vs. Wade.
We do not know how or when, of course, but we do know that it matters when millions of Americans have raised their voices in a moral outcry against a profound injustice.
And we have organized a coalition of pro-life groups who, today, are all calling upon Americans to raise their voices that
Roe v. Wade has got to go!
Will you consider signing the petition, and asking everyone in your sphere of influence to do the same?
