Thank the Senate GOP for helping to make
the courts great again!
April 11, 2019
Senate Republicans, led by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, recently took an important step toward ending Democratic obstructionism on confirming President Trump’s nominees to the federal courts and executive branch positions.
The Senate’s role in confirming nominees exists only to ensure that people who are patently unqualified will not be seated on federal benches or given important administration positions.
The Senate is not supposed to use its power as a tool to block people they don’t like politically.
But since President Trump’s inauguration, the Democrats have undertaken an unprecedented role of obstructionism.
The Senate Democrats have been clowning around with the rules just to block the president’s appointees.
How have they done this? By insisting on 30 hours of debate for each nominee! Keep in mind there are more than 160 vacancies still to be filled!
What’s worse is that for the majority of these 30 hours, what you will hear from the Senate floor is silence. No one is speaking out against a candidate.
They are just running out the clock.
Here’s how the very liberal New York Times described what prompted the rule change suggested by Sen. McConnell.
“The Democratic insistence on consuming all of that time before a preordained outcome had exhausted the patience of Mr. McConnell and his cohorts.”
As I said in a Facebook Live broadcast, the bottom line is that the
Senate Democrats were hijacking the U.S. Senate and the federal courts for political purposes.
But thanks to Senate Republicans, this will happen no longer!
The 30 hour limit has been whittled down to just two hours. That’s still plenty of time for a disgruntled Democrat to speak out against a candidate. And nothing is stopping any senator from simply voting no.
Two hours is long enough to examine the qualifications – instead of the politics – of a nominee.
So what I am asking you to do is to contact your Republican senators – if you are lucky enough to live in a state represented by one or two Republicans in the Senate – and thank them for changing the rules.
Thank them for helping to make the courts great again.
And if your Senator is a Democrat, let him or her know that you support President Trump’s nominees and you want them to do the same.
Please make those calls as soon as possible. It’s important for our elected lawmakers to know we are paying attention to their efforts, and that we support them.

And please forward this email to everyone you know who may be interested in helping!
