Urge your senators to vote to confirm President Trump’s nominees

Dear Friends,
Following his victory in November, President Trump set an historic pace in naming nominees to serve in his Cabinet. But nearly a month into his administration, the U.S. Senate continues to drag its feet in confirming his nominees.
By this point in President Obama’s first term, 26 nominees had been confirmed. As of this writing, only 13 of President Trump’s candidates have been confirmed and Democrats are using several delaying tactics to keep up this snail’s pace. For instance, they are insisting that they use every minute of the 30 hours allotted to discuss each nominee, which slows the process.
Also, according to Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott, Democrats are requiring votes “on every procedural move you can imagine,” which continues to impede the confirmation process.
You might recall that during the 118th Congress, Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville insisted on some of these tactics when approving military promotions. He was protesting the Defense Department’s new (and since discontinued) policy of paying travel expenses for service members to have abortions. The Democrats, and their loyal media allies, insisted that Tuberville was putting the country’s safety in jeopardy.
And now they are doing much worse! Not only are they slowing the process for Cabinet secretaries, their strategy also is delaying the confirmation of nominees for deputy positions and ambassadorships.
What can you and I do to help?
We can call our U.S. senators and tell them we want these confirmations advanced in the timeliest way possible.
Calls to Republican senators will let them know we support these nominees and we hope we can count on their support in confirming them.
American voters gave President Trump a mandate. His agenda is our agenda. His policies are the ones we the voters chose. And he needs and deserves the personnel that he has chosen in order to implement those policies.
Calls to Democrats will emphasize that we are running out of patience with their political games.
