Pray for Victory at the Supreme Court
April 2, 2025
Dear Friends,
As I’m sure you are aware, the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday, April 2 will hear oral arguments in a case called Medina vs. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. While the case is centered on an issue in South Carolina, the outcome could have major implications for the nation’s number one abortion seller in every state that protects its unborn.
Here's the case in a nutshell:
Under federal law, states can qualify or disqualify health care providers from receiving Medicaid funding. In 2018, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster told his state department of HHS that because South Carolina law prevents funding of abortion, that the Planned Parenthood facilities in the state were disqualified from Medicaid funding.
But Planned Parenthood is challenging that, arguing that Medicaid patients have the right to choose their own providers, and that South Carolina is violating that right.
Actually, the law says patients can choose from “any qualified provider.” South Carolina is saying that patients do not have a right to sue to choose a provider outside of those deemed qualified.

Oral arguments will take place Wednesday. We have been eagerly anticipating this day. At the pro-life rallies outside the Supreme Court, Priests for Life will voice a strong statement and hand out prayer cards for victory in this case.
Defunding Planned Parenthood has become a major goal of the entire pro-life movement. Last week I was in D.C. with Executive Director Janet Morana, visiting members of Congress to urge them to use the budget reconciliation process to cut off all Medicaid funding from abortion across the country.
Now I’m asking for your help. Will you pray for these efforts, particularly for victory at the Supreme Court in the case to be heard this week?
We know God is on our side in this fight, and we know He listens to our prayers. Let’s storm heaven with them until we have an opinion from the Court, which likely won’t happen until June but could come sooner.
May I count on you to help?
