Time to Visit Local Offices to De-Fund Big Abortion

As you know, the news and the efforts of the pro-life movement have been very much focused on stopping the funding of abortion and the abortion industry.
Priests for Life was happy to help in the preparation and organizing of the nationwide lobbying day March 27, when hundreds of pro-life activists from around the nation showed up on Capitol Hill wearing shirts saying “DeFund Big Abortion.” Our Executive Director Janet Morana and I joined them, and we all had a fantastic day!
Now it’s time to take this lobbying effort to the next level: to visit the district offices of our Representatives and the state offices of our two US Senators and bring the same message.
During Holy Week and Easter Week, Congress is not in session, and most of these members will be in their home districts.
That doesn’t mean, of course, that you will be able to meet with them personally and directly.
But the point is that when someone shows up at a local office about a national issue, that makes a strong impact. If you show up and talk to the staff, the Representative or Senator will hear about it. The DC office will hear about it. And it will reinforce everything that pro-life groups, both via letters and DC visits, have communicated.
So Priests for Life is launching this national project, urging people to visit the nearest district office of their US Rep and the nearest state offices of each of their two US Senators. Would you commit to take part in this project?
We are asking you to make three visits, one to the nearby office of your US House Representative, and the other to the nearby offices of each of your two US Senators.
We are doing this both for Republicans and Democrats, both for those who already strongly agree with us and those who strongly disagree. They all need to see the evidence of what every poll indicates: Americans do not want to pay for abortions.
And we want to do this soon, because right now, Congress is hammering out the bill that either will or will not de-fund abortion and the abortion industry.
