Call on Congress to Stop Funding Big Abortion

Dear Friends,
A woman who recently resigned from her job as a nurse at a Planned Parenthood killing center in Omaha told a Nebraska news outlet that understaffing was causing the center to ignore laws and safety procedures. She said the national organization was not fully funding the center, which had to stop doing abortions in March after this nurse and the only other one on staff both quit.
The good news is that the killing has stopped at that abortion mill, at least temporarily. But the thing to take note of here is that Planned Parenthood’s national organization receives hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars every year but apparently doesn’t even provide its affiliates money to meet basic laws. Even the abortion-friendly New York Times ran a big expose on Planned Parenthood’s shortcomings!
What does Planned Parenthood do with our money? It hires attorneys to fight every law passed to protect the unborn and their mothers on the city, state and federal level.
I’m sure this is not how you want your tax dollars spent!
As you know, the efforts of the pro-life movement have been very much focused on stopping the funding of abortion and the abortion industry.
Priests for Life was happy to help organize the nationwide lobbying day March 27, when hundreds of pro-life activists from around the nation showed up on Capitol Hill wearing shirts saying “DeFund Big Abortion.” Our Executive Director Janet Morana and I were there, and we all had a fantastic day!
Next, we urged our supporters to visit the home offices of their U.S. House representatives and senators while they home for the Easter break, urging them to defund Planned Parenthood and the whole abortion lobby through the budget reconciliation process.
Congress is back in session, and they need to hear this message one more time as they tackle the “Big Beautiful Bill” before them. We want to make it even more beautiful by including the de-funding of abortion.
So today, I’m asking you to take whatever steps you can from the following:
- Call the D.C. offices of your representative and both of your senators—regardless of party—and tell them you insist they do everything in their power to defund Big Abortion.
- Call their local offices with the same message.
- Visit the nearest district office of your representative and the nearest state offices of your two senators to deliver the message in person.
