Kevin Burke, co-founder, Rachel’s Vineyard and pastoral associate with Priests for Life, was one of the presenters for the Hope Restored Conference on Healing the Wounds of Abortion sponsored by the Catholic Prolife Community of Dallas.
Kevin’s presentation to clergy, counselors and the general public focused on the impact of abortion on men. In his multi-media presentation, Kevin shared how awareness and healing for men, once you understand the symptoms men experience after abortion, is an important part of the healing of our families, communities, and nation. Kevin helped the participants understand how abortion impacts men with previous abuse and wounds in their relationship with fathers, and the impact on our poorest minority communities devastated by high abortion rates.
Bishop Greg Kelly opened the conference with prayer and a beautiful affirmation of the importance of the healing of abortion, and the great blessing of programs like Rachel’s Vineyard in the ministry of the Church. The Catholic Prolife Community of Dallas were one of the first sites to offer the Rachel’s Vineyard weekend program developed by Priests Life Pastoral Associate Dr. Theresa Burke, and has been an especially fruitful and blessed Vineyard of the Lord.
Other presenters included Dr. Ingrid Skop of the Charlotte Lozier Institute, an Ob-Gyn for over 30 years, Dana Nygaard, LPC, Bernice Simmons, LPC, and Sr. Patrica Marie Barnette.
