Pelosi, Trump and the Poisoning of Political Discourse

At the close of the President Donald Trump’s 2020 State of the Union address, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, in full view of those assembled and a national television audience, proceeded to tear up a written version of the President’s speech.  This incident was a powerful visual reminder of the increasingly poisonous atmosphere of our nation’s political discourse.  Reactions to Pelosi’s theater ranged from mild amusement to seething outrage.  My reaction?  I thought of German chemical and pharmaceutical conglomerate…
