TITUSVILLE, FL - “In Joe Biden’s version of America, all roads lead to abortion,” Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone said today as the U.S. Supreme Court hears arguments in a case regarding an Idaho law that protects most babies from abortion.
In the consolidated cases Moyle v. United States and Idaho v. United States, the justices will consider whether the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) supersedes the Idaho Defense of Life Act.
“The Biden administration wants to force healthcare providers to perform abortion using the false shield of EMTALA, a law that has nothing to do with abortion,” Pavone said. “EMTALA ensures that people who cannot pay receive emergency care regardless and does not mandate any procedures, including abortion. The Idaho law already has exceptions for mothers whose lives are imperiled.
“The bottom line is that Biden has based his entire re-election campaign on pandering to abortion advocates and fearmongering the American public. Moreover, multiple decisions of this Administration show that Biden has no respect for the Constitution’s limits on executive authority. More deference to the states is in order, particularly since the Supreme Court made clear in Dobbs that abortion policy is determined ‘by the people and their elected representatives,’” Pavone continued.
Priests for Life Executive Director Janet Morana said the issue purports to be about concern for women but that is not the case.
“This case is really about the administration pandering to its donors, including the nation’s number one abortion seller, Planned Parenthood,” Mrs. Morana said. “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris do not care about women. I’m looking forward to the opinion in this case because I’m confident the justices will allow babies in Idaho, and elsewhere, to continue to be protected.”
