TITUSVILLE, FL -- “My thoughts and prayers today are with pro-lifers in Ireland, who are taking part in the March for Life to restore protection for the youngest babies in their nation, those in the womb” Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone said this morning.
Residents of the republic voted in 2018 to repeal a law that protected most babies from abortion. The procedure is now legal through the 12th week after a 72-hour waiting period but pro-abortion lawmakers are looking to eliminate the waiting period and make it easier to gain an exception for abortion beyond the 12-week cutoff.
“The Irish are fighting the same kind of abortion extremism we are seeing here in the U.S.” Pavone said. “That’s why public shows of support for children in the womb, like today’s march, are so important. Pro-lifers need to continue exposing the extremism of the other side, and demonstrating the compassion we have both for the babies and their families.”
