TITUSVILLE, FL -- Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone issued the following statement today after Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives introduced a resolution calling for abortion as part of emergency medical care:

“Well now, this is amazing. All these pro-abortion Democrats, who for years told us that lawmakers should not be practicing medicine, are now presuming to practice medicine by declaring abortion a form of stabilizing care,” Pavone said.

“They should stop their efforts to try to hijack EMTALA, an existing federal law that actually calls for the protection of the unborn, to be used as an excuse to kill them.

“Pro-life laws do not deprive women of stabilizing care and do not conflict with EMTALA. They only conflict with radical Democrat abortion extremism.”
