WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone today attended the inaugural meeting of the America 250 Civics Education Coalition, which is preparing for the celebration of our nation’s Semiquincentennial in 2026.
“I am honored that Priests for Life has been asked to be a member of this coalition as we plan events to celebrate the 250th birthday of this bold and hopeful experiment known as the United States of America, and educate our fellow citizens on the meaning of our founding documents and the extraordinary system of government our Founders have left us,” Pavone said.
The Coalition is led by the America First Policy Institute in coordination with the U.S. Department of Education. Plans in the works for 2026 include a “Trail to Independence Tour” of all 50 states in the order in which they joined the Union; a college speaker series to focus on America’s core rights and values; a student competition highlighting knowledge of American history, and the development of resources for teachers in grades kindergarten through 12 to help highlight patriotic themes in their classrooms.
After today’s inaugural meeting, Pavone said, “I look forward to the work of the coming months. In particular, as a national pro-life educational organization, Priests for Life looks forward to helping America understand what our founding documents say about the right to life, given to every individual from the Creator, and about the role of government to secure that right.
“One of our activities as a member group of this Coalition will be the National Prayer Service, to take place Jan. 23, 2026 at Constitution Hall in Washington,” Pavone said. “It will celebrate the right to life recognized in our Declaration of Independence.”
