TITUSVILLE, FL -- Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone issued the following statement after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott today signed a new law protecting his citizens, born and unborn.
“Gov. Greg Abbott and the pro-life lawmakers and people of Texas continue to lead the way in safeguarding the unborn and their mothers from abortion,” Pavone said. “The bill signed by the governor today gives Texas residents the power to file civil suits against out-of-state entities that illegally import deadly abortion pills into the state, or profit from their sale. It also allows women harmed by the drugs to seek justice from those who provided the pills.
“Many prolife citizens ask what we can do about the increasing frequency of chemical abortions. Today, Texas has answered that question.
“The Texas Heartbeat Act enacted in 2021 was ground-breaking, and this new law, the Woman and Child Protection Act, is just as important. Babies will be saved and moms will be spared the horror of a chemical abortion.”
