Priests for Life to lead Jan. 17 protest outside D.C. Planned Parenthood

Priests for Life

January 10, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- According to her death notice in the New York Times, Carol Whitehill Moses had a degree in child development and spent much of her career teaching learning-disabled kids and equipping them with skills to overcome their disabilities.

But the facility named in her honor has nothing do to with helping children. The Carol Whitehill Moses Center, a Planned Parenthood abortion business in Washington, D.C., kills children up until 19 weeks and six days. After that, the center will refer mothers to other abortionists to ensure that no unwanted child escapes the womb alive. Ms. Moses was a past president of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington.

The killing center is the site of regular demonstrations by pro-lifers, and on Jan. 17, hundreds of people from all over the country will gather outside to peacefully and prayerfully protest what goes on inside the $20 million facility that opened in 2016.

Priests for Life is again organizing the protest that takes place each year the day before the March for Life. Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, will speak at the event. Janet Morana, Executive Director and co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, and Youth Director Bryan Kemper also will address the crowd and they will be joined by other national pro-life leaders.

“The fact that this killing center is named in memory of an educator and located next door to a school underscores the horror of what goes on inside,” Father Pavone said. “Children deserve protection during every stage of development and yet our laws sanction barbaric abortion procedures for those deemed unwanted or unfit. We will gather outside the flagship abortion business in our nation’s capital and declare that the days of legal child murder are coming to an end.”

The protest outside 1225 4th St. NE will run from 8 to 11 a.m. Father Pavone encouraged those who cannot stay for three hours to come for any portion of the protest.

“We need people who believe in the sanctity of life to show up in great numbers, to show our nation – and our lawmakers – that we can and will end abortion,” Father Pavone said. “Nothing on our national agenda is more important.”

Priests for Life is organizing a number of other events associated with the March for Life. Our Youth Director, Bryan Kemper, will serve as emcee of the official March for Life Youth Rally on Thursday afternoon. We also organize the National Prayer Service on Friday morning Jan. 18, and the Silent No More Gathering at the conclusion of the March for Life at the Supreme Court. Priests for Life team member Alveda King will be leading the closing prayer at the official March for Life Rally.
