TITUSVILLE, FL -- Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, and Janet Morana, Executive Director, released the following statements today following a failed vote in the U.S. Senate to consider the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

“The extremism of the Democrats can no longer be ignored or debated,” Father Pavone said. “As Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor today, this bill merely recognizes that a newborn baby is a newborn baby, no matter what the circumstances were of his or her birth. For the Democrats, a newborn slated for extermination before birth is fair game even after birth. This is infanticide. The only thing Americans can do to protect these most vulnerable babies is to vote out of office those who fail to protect them.

“Priests for Life and other pro-life groups will expose the voting record of every member of the Senate on this bill, and will make it a major election issue. Get involved now in Elections 2020 at www.ProLifeVote.com.”

Mrs. Morana said: “When I was a public school teacher in New York City, my class was hatching baby chicks. One of them was clearly not going to make it but the students pleaded with me to do everything I could to save the chick, whom we had named Olivia. The kids were heartbroken that we could not save her. Today our Senate couldn’t come up with the necessary votes to advance a bill to save human babies who have outlived an abortionist’s best efforts to kill them. Children understand how precious life is; many of our senators seem to have forgotten.”

I am outraged with the actions of the 53 “Demonocrats” that voted “No”. We can’t wait until the next election for our voices to be heard. We need our protest to be heard NOW, and be heard loud and clear. We need the highest authority of our Church leaders, Catholic, Protestant, Jews and others to publicly announce our outrage. Every US citizen who agree that this is offensive to us and we will not be silent. I want every Senator who voted “No”,to RESIGN from office. If they don’t, then we need to start a movement to have them impeached from office.

Does this not bring back memories of the Jews being marched off to the gas chambers and most all of the German citizens just sittin back and watching. They at least had a legitimate reason to be silent. We as free Americans do not have to fearful of being shot for expressing ourselves. At least for now.

It broke my heart to see the news about the vote on saving babies who survive an abortion. I am from Michigan, and both senators voted down this bill. This is infantiside.
Nancy Pelosi brags that she is a devout Catholic, visited two Popes. But, she believes in late term abortion. How does she sleep at night knowing how she can save babies and votes to kill them. I guess she thinks God is deaf, dumb, and blind. She has to know that she can't take her power position with her to the judgement seat.
My heart aches for this innocent little lives. How sad the road our country is going down. I pray everyday for the end of abortion at any stage of a babies life. Shame on the Catholic and other Christians who voted down this bill. A sad day in the US. God bless Father Frank and the other Priests for life. Don't ever give up. We will keep on praying with you. I love all life from conception to natural death. Teresa Greer
