Father Frank Pavone will be the keynote speaker at a grand opening and dedication ceremony Sunday, Aug. 4, for Stanton Healthcare in Meridian, Idaho.
Stanton Healthcare is the brainchild of Idaho pro-life activist Brandi Swindell, who hopes that her chain of health-care facilities for women eventually will replace Planned Parenthood and help mothers choose life instead of abortion.
The first Stanton center opened right next door to Planned Parenthood in Boise in 2007. When the nation’s number one abortion seller opened a mega killing center in Meridian, about 12 miles from Boise, Stanton was able to purchase the building next door.
Father Pavone noted that Ms. Swindell has been a friend and collaborator with Priests for Life for decades. Youth Outreach Director Bryan Kemper said that when he founded Rock for Life, Ms. Swindell was the first “traveling intern,” who traveled to Christian music concerts, spoke to young people at the Olympics in Salt Lake City and did outreach at a “Ski and Ride for Life” in Park City, Utah.
“Brandi’s vision to replace Planned Parenthood with women-centric centers that offer real choices and concrete help is inspiring,” Father Pavone said. “Elizabeth Cady Stanton, an early feminist, recognized that abortion just perpetuates the mistake that you can treat some people as property. Authentic feminism promotes equality, not only for women, but for children too.”
Janet Morana, Priests for Life Executive Director and co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, also will attend the Stanton Meridian dedication.
“Part of the mission of Stanton Healthcare is to help those wounded by abortion to find healing, and for that we are very grateful. Some of our Silent No More members were young when they had an unexpected pregnancy, and some turned to Planned Parenthood because they thought they could get parenting lessons and guidance,” she said. “But Planned Parenthood only sells abortions, which bring with them untold grief and anguish. Stanton Healthcare is the perfect antidote to the poison of Planned Parenthood.”
The dedication ceremony for the 6,700-square-foot building will begin at 3 p.m. MT. Rep. Russ Fulcher, a Republican congressman, and Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd also will speak at the grand opening.
Stanton has a third facility in Idaho, in Twin Falls, as well as centers in Michigan, California and Belfast, Ireland.
“This is an exciting new chapter in Stanton International,” Ms. Swindell said. “It will be wonderful to hear of all the lives that are impacted and saved through the new clinic in the 13th fastest growing city in the nation.”
