TITUSVILLE, FL -- Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, and Janet Morana, Executive Director, today criticized Planned Parenthood for naming as CEO a political activist with no medical training.
“Planned Parenthood likes to pretend it is a healthcare provider that just happens to do abortion, but today’s announcement makes clear that abortion is front and center of everything they do,” Father Pavone said. “The short tenure and public dismissal of its former CEO, a medical doctor, was already an indication that the nation’s number one abortion seller is a political organization whose only goal is to ensure that no child gets left behind in the womb.”
Mrs. Morana, who co-founded the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, said many of the thousands of women in the Campaign who speak publicly about their abortions had gone to Planned Parenthood.
“They were not treated like individuals seeing a doctor; they were treated like cattle going to slaughter,” she said. “Planned Parenthood does not care about women. It cares only about collecting blood money.”
Priests for Life (EndAbortion.US) is the world’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated exclusively to ending abortion. Pro-life efforts are working. The abortion rate in America is the lowest it has been since Roe v. Wade and in recent years states have passed more than 400 laws to protect the unborn. The number of freestanding abortion clinics in the U.S. has dropped from 2179 in 1991 down to 710 today, and President Trump has placed 200 pro-life judges on the federal bench.
