TITUSVILLE, FL -- Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life; Janet Morana, Executive Director, and Alveda King, Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, released the following statements today regarding Planned Parenthood and its flagship’s decision to distance itself from founder Margaret Sanger.

“It is way past time for the nation’s number one abortion seller to admit the truth about Margaret Sanger – that she was a racist who wanted to ‘weed out’ anyone she found undesirable, including people of color and the disabled,” Father Pavone said. “But changing the name of a killing center does not stop the carnage. If the newly named Manhattan Health Center truly wants to provide healthcare to women, it must stop aborting their children.”

Mrs. Morana said: “In New York City, more Black babies are aborted than born, and Planned Parenthood has the blood of many of these innocents on its hands. When I hear people say Black Lives Matter, I always wonder how the lives of these black abortion victims – and the women of color killed in botched abortions – are overlooked. Their lives matter, too.”

Evangelist King, the niece of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., noted that most Planned Parenthood abortion facilities are located in minority neighborhoods.

“Margaret Sanger and the organization she founded have been working to annihilate the Black community for 100 years,” she said. “This name change is literally just window dressing unless Planned Parenthood stops killing babies and instead helps mothers to choose life.”

Priests for Life (EndAbortion.US)  is the world’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated exclusively to ending abortion. Pro-life efforts are working. The abortion rate in America is the lowest it has been since Roe v. Wade and in recent years states have passed more than 400 laws to protect the unborn. The number of freestanding abortion clinics in the U.S. has dropped from 2179 in 1991 down to 710 today, and President Trump has placed 200 pro-life judges on the federal bench.
