TITUSVILLE, FL -- Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today echoed the call made by more than two dozen U.S. senators who asked the Department of Justice for an update on their ongoing investigation of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion seller.
“Planned Parenthood has been under federal investigation for several years now, and we’re grateful to the Republican leadership who saw to it that this investigation was launched. The nation’s largest abortion cartel has gotten away for far too long with breaking the law left and right as they continue to kill babies by the hundreds of thousands and cause women untold harm from abortion.”
Led by Georgia Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler, a letter signed by 28 senators was sent to the Department of Justice to ask for an update on any action taken since the Senate Judiciary Committee’s criminal referrals were forwarded to Justice officials in 2016.
A second letter, signed by 29 senators, asks the Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery (SIGPR) at the Treasury Department to investigate Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans that 43 Planned Parenthood affiliates wrongly received, totaling $80 million.
Father. Pavone added, “We also know that Planned Parenthood received tens of millions of dollars in funding for small businesses impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. It’s time for them to be called to account.
“Americans need the truth about what goes on behind the closed doors of Planned Parenthood’s killing centers. And voters need to understand that one of the big differences between the Republican and Democrat parties is that while Democrats are in bed with Planned Parenthood, which funds their campaigns generously, the Republicans are not afraid to hold hearings and conduct investigations into their morally bankrupt and criminal activities.”
Father Pavone concluded: “What more can one expect from a business that kills babies? Once you do that, you’ve lost your conscience, and you’ll do all kinds of other evil. As I’ve always said, you can’t practice vice virtuously.”
Priests for Life (EndAbortion.US) is the world’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated exclusively to ending abortion. Pro-life efforts are working. The abortion rate in America is the lowest it has been since Roe v. Wade and in recent years states have passed more than 400 laws to protect the unborn. The number of freestanding abortion clinics in the U.S. has dropped from 2179 in 1991 down to 710 today, and President Trump has placed 200 pro-life judges on the federal bench.
