TITUSVILLE, FL - Priests for Life has offered its support for the Family Security Act 2.0 unveiled recently by Senate Republicans, including the Chairman of the Senate Pro-life Caucus, Senator Steve Daines (R-MT).
The act, announced by Utah Sen. Mitt Romney with the backing of North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr and Sen. Daines, would provide monthly cash payments to working families with young children, including unborn children in the later stages of pregnancy.
“This act recognizes that parenthood begins before the birth of a child, and will help families with child care and other expenses for their young children,” said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “That’s something all pro-life people can support.”
Noting that the act would not penalize parents who are married and would provide benefits for up to six children, Janet Morana, Executive Director at Priests for Life, said it should help both falling marriage and birth rates in the U.S.”
“People shouldn’t be worried about money when they are planning something as important as getting married or starting a family,” she said. “This act will help the U.S. reclaim a culture of life.”
