TITUSVILLE, FL -- “Joe Biden and his pro-abortion henchmen think that they can overlook the conscience rights of this nation’s healthcare workers and the laws of its states. That’s not how the United States works, and I salute Texas for leading the way in pushing back against federal overreach on abortion.”
That was the reaction from Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, to news that Texas has filed a lawsuit challenging new abortion guidance from the Biden administration.
In a memo to doctors and hospitals, the administration warned that federal law requires them to provide abortions in emergency circumstances, regardless of state law or the conscience rights of medical professionals involved.
“Texas was the first but will not be the only state to push back against this threat,” Father Pavone said. “The overturning of Roe v. Wade gave the states more power to protect babies from abortion, not less.”
