TITUSVILLE, KY - “We rejoice in the good news from Kentucky,” said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life.
He was referring to news that babies in the womb from 15 weeks on will be protected from abortion after a judge ruled the law can be enforced while a challenge from abortion providers continues.
“The people of Kentucky have elected leaders who understand the sanctity of life, but judges in the state have blocked laws that would have all but eliminated abortion in the state. With today’s ruling from a federal judge, lives will be saved.
“I’m confident that eventually, the will of the people of Kentucky will win out. As the Supreme Court has recently ruled in Dobbs, policymaking on abortion belongs to the people and their elected representatives. If it does not make sense for the federal courts to arrogate that right to themselves, neither does it make sense for state courts to do so,” Father Pavone concluded.
