Priests for Life this summer brought two college interns on board to add additional talent to our already robust social media and broadcast teams. Both interns will continue to work with us throughout the school year.
John Thomas is an electrical engineering student at Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, Florida. He’s a native Floridian whose family moved to Mims – the next town to the north of our Titusville headquarters - in 2013. He began helping with sound production at his church, and that has grown into his involvement with production and audio for other churches, numerous events, a bluegrass concert group, and
John was confirmed into the Catholic Church during the 2022 Easter Vigil and he has been a committed pro-life advocate since middle school.
His “can-do” attitude at Priests for Life has been much appreciated, as he helps with many of our broadcasts, and comes in nights and weekends to produce Father Frank Pavone’s “Praying for America” show which airs on the Right Side Broadcasting Network and many other platforms.
John will continue working weekends now that the academic year is under way.
Abraham Watkins came on board as an intern in our social media department.
Although he was born in Titusville, he spent his early years in Georgia and Tennessee before his family moved back to the Space Coast and settled in Mims.
After being home schooled from kindergarten through high school, Abraham is a student at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, studying commercial music, with a focus on recording, engineering and production.
Like John, Abraham worked fulltime in our office until returning to school, and has been working for us remotely since the new semester started.
“Working for Priests for Life has been a great blessing in my life,” he said. “One of the main things that I enjoy about the college degree that I am currently pursuing is exactly what I have the privilege of doing at Priests for Life. In the social media department, I communicate with, observe, and feel for people. I not only do this, but I also get to influence people with the truth about life. I get to work alongside wonderful like-minded Christians, fighting with love to bring help to the helpless, which is ultimately imitating Christ.”
The addition of the interns is part of a wider expansion of the staff in other departments as well, including correspondence, data entry, and reception. Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director, commented, “From my first days leading Priests for Life, I’ve been blessed with wonderful staff. We currently employ 50 people and counting, many of whom have been with us not just for years but for decades. Their perseverance is a testament to their dedication to working together as a team, and their commitment to the most important cause of our times, defending the unborn from abortion.”
