TITUSVILLE, FL -- Pro-Life Leader Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today urged supporters to contact their members of the House of Representatives to express their support for three pro-life measures expected to come up for a vote in the first few weeks of the new 118th Congress.
The three measures are:
- No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, which would make permanent the long-standing Hyde Amendment as well as similar provisions to prohibit federal funding for abortion and funding for any insurance plan that includes abortion on demand.
- Born-Alive Abortion Supporters Protection Act, which would ensure that infants born alive after an abortion receive the same protection of law and degree of care as any newborn.
- A congressional resolution condemning the more than 200 attacks on pro-life facilities, groups and churches since May.
“The fruits of the 2022 election already are beginning to be seen, as a pro-life majority in the House highlights the importance of protecting life,” Pavone said. “The abortion-loving Democrats still left in the House will have to go on record opposing these two common-sense bills, and if they oppose the resolution condemning attacks against pro-life facilities, they will be condoning violence.”
Pavone noted that the Democrat majority in the 117th Congress refused to bring pro-life measures to the floor for a vote, even excluding the Born-Alive bill, which does not restrict abortion but seeks to protect newborns who survive abortion.
“This new Congress will highlight the abortion extremism of the Democrats,” Pavone said. “Anyone who is represented by one these ideologues should remind them that another election is always right around the corner. They do not deserve a single vote.”
