WASHINGTON, D.C. - Although Roe v. Wade has been overturned, Jan. 22, 1973 is a day that will live in infamy.

On that day, seven unelected men approved abortion throughout pregnancy and for any reason, leading to the murder of some 65 million children and the wounding of millions of mothers and fathers who chose abortion.

On Sunday, Jan. 22, the 50th anniversary of that tragic Supreme Court decision, Priests for Life and Silent No More, together with Faith & Liberty and Stanton Public Policy/Purple Sash Revolution, will hold a prayer vigil outside the courthouse from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

The vigil will memorialize the children who were victims of the Roe decision and pray for those who have been physically or emotionally harmed by abortion. The anniversary this year falls on Sanctity of Life Sunday, making it even more appropriate to make the unborn the focus of this day that will forever be one of the darkest days in our shared history.

Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone, Executive Director Janet Morana and Bryan Kemper, coordinator of street activism, will gather with other pro-life leaders and women and men from Silent No More to offer prayers and to lay flowers on the steps of the court.

Priests for Life is also making Sanctity of Life Sunday resources available at www.ProLife.Church.
