TITUSVILLE, FL -- Priests for Life National Director Frank Pavone, who served on advisory boards for President Donald J. Trump’s campaigns, made the following statement today regarding the indictment handed down from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg:
“Marxism has been imposed on our nation by the Democrat Party. This indictment is the worst (but not last) manifestation so far of the determination of the Democrat Party to grab from the hands of the American people the freedom we have to choose our leaders. For the Democrats to twist the law and indict the leader of their political opposition is such blatant anti-American behavior that from this point forward, there is no longer any room for compromise with the Democrat Party. They should not be considered a political alternative for Americans, but an enemy to Americans. Using every peaceful, legal, Constitutional means, we must be fully determined to dismantle the Democrat Party and take it off the political landscape.
“Yesterday was the anniversary of the death of St. John Paul II. In partnership with Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher, he helped dismantle Communism. Since every form of Communism and Marxism are contrary to Catholic teaching, I call on Catholic leaders, especially those who love America, to speak clearly against the weaponization of government now on full display from the Democrats. And all other believers and patriots need to speak loudly and clearly as well.
“Finally, all this is unfolding in Holy Week, when we hear in Church about how Pontius Pilate caved to mob political pressure and condemned Jesus to crucifixion even though he knew he was innocent. It was prosecutorial misconduct. The enemies of Jesus weaponized otherwise legitimate processes to get rid of him. When Jesus told Pilate he had come to bear witness to the truth, he identified the most important aspect of politics, and when Pilate replied, ‘What is truth,’ he reflected perfectly the rejection of truth that characterizes the ‘woke’ mindset the Democrats impose on America today.”
