Priests for Life is proud to support the next major step to restoring protection to children in the womb: the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. In the House, this bill is H.R. 36, and we urge all to contact their Representative to urge him or her to support this bill.

It is in fact immoral not to support this bill. Every baby in the womb without exception is a person, with the full human rights that personhood entails. Their personhood demands that we save them as soon as we have the opportunity to do so. This bill is our legislative opportunity to do so. It does not protect everyone, but the ones whom it does protect are persons who need to be protected ASAP. The fact that the bill leaves others unprotected does not take away the rights of those who are, or the urgency to protect them!

If all the babies in the womb were already protected by law, and a bill were introduced that had exceptions to whom would be protected, that would be immoral to support, because it would be taking away protection from those who already have it.

But this bill takes protection away from nobody. They are all unprotected! This bill begins to restore protection, and is written in a way that gets the maximum support from the lawmakers who have to vote on it.

This bill is the next logical and effective step towards restoring full protection to all children in the womb, and we will work with unwavering support to pass it.
