Fr. Frank Pavone on EWTN

Many of you have written to us about how Fr. Frank's appearances on EWTN help you in the understanding of the Christian Faith and inspire you to live it more generously, especially in the arena of pro-life action.

You have also told us that you miss seeing Fr. Frank on the network recently. He is simply awaiting his bishop's permission to be back on the programs. Meanwhile, he continues his fulltime pro-life work and is getting the word out in countless ways as you can see on this website. Moreover, new Defending Life programs continue on EWTN, with various members of the Priests for Life team being featured on them.

Here, we have put links to some of the video and audio of Fr. Frank's teaching and preaching on EWTN. Audio CDs of his EWTN homilies can also be ordered from our online store.

EWTN Mass February 22, 2009: Behold I am Doing Something New
EWTN Mass February 22, 2009: Behold I am Doing Something New Fr. Frank echoes the urgent call of Christ to repentance and conversion. It is not too late for anyone to come back to the Church. The Lord says he remembers our sins no more! Yet some day, the door of opportunity will close. If there is someone in your life who needs to hear the invitation of God to come back to Him, don’t be afraid to invite that person to Church and to confession.
EWTN Mass February 23, 2009: The Wisdom of God
EWTN Mass February 23, 2009: The Wisdom of God Jesus Christ is the Word and Wisdom of God. Through Him all things were made, and He holds the universe together. Therefore, faith and reason are not contradictory to one another. This message should encourage every Christian to grow in knowledge and to value the discipline of study.
EWTN Mass February 24, 2009: Everyone Can Serve
EWTN Mass February 24, 2009: Everyone Can Serve Greatness lies in service, in giving ourselves for others. One does not have to have a degree to serve, but only a heart open to others. In this spirit, all oppression ends.  The teaching documents of our bishops contain a wealth of insight into what it means to serve. Let’s be sure to read them.
EWTN Mass February 26, 2009: Choose Life
EWTN Mass February 26, 2009: Choose Life God urges his people to “Choose Life!” because prosperity never comes from choosing death. Fr. Frank shows how this applies to the abortion issue and gives a stirring challenge to those who call themselves “pro-choice.”  If you are not active in the pro-life movement, now is the time to become involved!
EWTN Mass March 2, 2009: Sins of Omission
EWTN Mass March 2, 2009: Sins of Omission “You shall not stand by idly when your neighbor’s life is at stake.” Fr. Frank explains that being “pro-choice” is the same as turning one’s back on the child who is aborted. But God’s word commands us to intervene to protect that child.  The time is now to get involved in saving the lives of the unborn and all the vulnerable.
EWTN Mass March 3, 2009: We Dare to say "Our Father"
EWTN Mass March 3, 2009: We Dare to say "Our Father" The liturgy says “we dare to say…Our Father.” This prayer teaches us that we have a new identity as sons and daughters of God, and this identity has profound implications. Based on this message, let’s echo the Church’s invitation to all people to become God’s sons and daughters by baptism.
EWTN Mass March 5, 2009: I'm Mad and I'm Not Going to Take it Anymore!
EWTN Mass March 5, 2009: I'm Mad and I'm Not Going to Take it Anymore! Fr. Frank explores where we find the strength to take the risks necessary to do unto others what we would have them do unto us – especially when it comes to protecting someone’s life.  Anger is not always something bad, but that we should be rightly angry at injustice, and use that energy to work for good.
EWTN Mass April 14, 2010: God So Loved the World
EWTN Mass April 14, 2010: God So Loved the World In this homily, Fr. Frank preaches on the best-known verse of Scripture, “God so loved the world” and draws from that verse a plan for trusting God and spreading His Word. Fr. Frank has described God as “The Great Separator,” who divides truth from falsehood and life from death. Let us live in such a way that we’re on the right side of that division!
EWTN Mass April 13, 2010: Proclaiming Christ and Serving Human Needs
EWTN Mass April 13, 2010: Proclaiming Christ and Serving Human Needs In this homily Fr. Frank explores how the Church’s service to humanity flows from the proclamation of the Resurrection of Christ. Fr. Frank has called us to bridge the false divide between pro-life and social justice, and between service to humanity and belief in God.
EWTN Mass April 12, 2010: You Must be Born Again
EWTN Mass April 12, 2010: You Must be Born Again In this homily Fr. Frank explores the meaning of being “born again,” and helps us appreciate the tremendous change that occurs in us when we are baptized. When we are born again, we are not deterred anymore by the opposition we will face from those who despise the Gospel. We are to renew our courage each day.
EWTN Mass April 11, 2010: Divine Mercy and Divine Mission
EWTN Mass April 11, 2010: Divine Mercy and Divine Mission In this homily for Divine Mercy Sunday, Fr. Frank explains the foundation of Divine Mercy in the events celebrated in Easter week. Mercy is not only something we accept; it is a mission we extend to the whole world, and includes saving the unborn from abortion.
EWTN Mass April 10, 2010: Obey God Rather than Men
EWTN Mass April 10, 2010: Obey God Rather than Men This homily explains that absolute obedience can only be given to God, not to the state, and challenges us to be courageous in resisting unjust laws that destroy human life.  May the lessons of this homily stir us to a greater defense of life, working to reverse the unjust policies that allow the violence of abortion.
EWTN Mass April 7, 2010: In the Breaking of the Bread
EWTN Mass April 7, 2010: In the Breaking of the Bread The appearance of Jesus to the disciples on the Road to Emmaus instructs us that he is the fulfillment of all Scripture, and that we find our fulfillment in the Eucharist.  We have the opportunity each day to welcome Jesus to the table of our lives, as did the disciples in Emmaus. Let us not miss his presence in the Eucharist, in each other, and in the unborn children.
EWTN Mass April 6, 2010: He is Risen and is With Us!
EWTN Mass April 6, 2010: He is Risen and is With Us! This homily focuses on how the Resurrection of Christ makes him present to us in a new way, and makes us a new humanity, a People of Life!  Our great joy in the Resurrection of Jesus makes us joyful defenders of life. Knowing that death has been conquered, let us fight the pro-life battle with confidence.
EWTN Mass October 30, 2009: What is the Greatest Tragedy in Life?
EWTN Mass October 30, 2009: What is the Greatest Tragedy in Life? Fr. Frank explains that there is a greater tragedy than what we suffer; it is the tragedy of what we miss. This homily will help us not to miss what is most important in life. The purpose of law is to protect the dignity of human life. Let’s reflect that dignity by what we say, how we live, and how we vote.
EWTN Mass October 28, 2009: The Church: Apostolic and Dynamic
EWTN Mass October 28, 2009: The Church: Apostolic and Dynamic Fr. Frank explains how the Church is rooted in the apostles, and that this is a dynamic reality, geared not just to preserving the faith but to proclaiming and spreading it.  As living stones, let’s continue to build up the Church by spreading the teachings of the apostles.
EWTN Mass October 27, 2009: The Power of Living by Hope
EWTN Mass October 27, 2009: The Power of Living by Hope Fr. Frank explains how the Christian life is one of hope, and how hope brings the victories of the future into the present. Hope enables us to say yes to life. Let’s defend life by spreading hope.
EWTN Mass October 26, 2009: Freedom in the Spirit
EWTN Mass October 26, 2009: Freedom in the Spirit Fr. Frank explains that the fruits of the Spirit, and the true meaning of freedom, are the source of the pro-life movement. Just as the civil rights movement had Freedom Rides, so the pro-life movement now does the same. Find out more at ProLifeFreedomRides.com.
EWTN Mass October 25, 2009: Living as a Priestly People
EWTN Mass October 25, 2009: Living as a Priestly People Fr. Frank explains how we all share in the priesthood of Christ by our baptism, and also how unique the ordained priesthood is. He also describes the most common and dangerous temptation of priests. We are all called to echo the invitation priests give to reconciliation and healing, that all may return to the peace of the Kingdom of Christ.
EWTN Mass April 16, 2010: How Christ Transforms Pagan Politics
EWTN Mass April 16, 2010: How Christ Transforms Pagan Politics Those who opposed the apostles’ preaching of the Resurrection of Jesus realized after a while that they might be fighting God himself. In this homily Fr. Frank explores how God works through his people and how civic and religious authorities must be alert to that. The problem today is not that the Church is too political, but that politics is too pagan. As disciples, let’s witness to government about the truth of the Gospel.
EWTN Mass April 15, 2010: The Name Above All Other Names
EWTN Mass April 15, 2010: The Name Above All Other Names This homily will remind us that the Lord Jesus is above all our relationships, possessions, and privileges, and also above all our sins and the power of death itself.  We are called to be witnesses of the Lord’s mercy, and to call others to repentance so that they may enjoy that mercy. Let’s not be afraid to do so!
EWTN Mass April 27, 2010: I am the Good Shepherd
EWTN Mass April 27, 2010: I am the Good Shepherd This homily focuses on what the title “Shepherd” tells us about Jesus’ relationship with us, and why we are most free when we listen to the voice of the true Shepherd. The Good Shepherd protects the life of the sheep. Following the Good Shepherd, therefore, means that we are pro-life and that we do everything possible to protect the lives of the weak and vulnerable.
EWTN Mass December 2, 2010: Building Peace by Welcoming the Savior
EWTN Mass December 2, 2010: Building Peace by Welcoming the Savior The Messiah who comes at Christmas brings peace and security to individuals and nations as a result of the trust they place in him. To welcome him, and to welcome every human life in his name, is the key to that peace.
EWTN Mass December 3, 2010: The Tyrant Will Be No More
EWTN Mass December 3, 2010: The Tyrant Will Be No More Fr. Frank discusses how the right to life has to be secured on an international level, and how various international declarations and treaties point in that direction. These efforts help bring about what the prophets foretold when they spoke of God’s protection for his people.
EWTN Mass December 4, 2010: We Are People of the New Evangelization
EWTN Mass December 4, 2010: We Are People of the New Evangelization The New Evangelization is the Church’s effort to announce the Gospel in places where it has already been received, but where it has been forgotten or diluted. A key aspect of New Evangelization is defending and promoting the sanctity of life and the rights of the unborn.
EWTN Mass September 12, 2010: Come Back to the Lord!
EWTN Mass September 12, 2010: Come Back to the Lord! God is neither soft on sin, nor did he send his Son to condemn the world. Rather, he issues, through his Church, the urgent call to repentance and reconciliation. This homily echoes that call.  The Silent No More Awareness Campaign, by which those who have had abortions give their testimonies of pain and forgiveness, is among the strongest signs in the world today of the call of God’s mercy to all sinners.
EWTN Mass September 13, 2010: Proclaim the Death of the Lord Until He Comes!
EWTN Mass September 13, 2010: Proclaim the Death of the Lord Until He Comes! Fr. Frank explains how the Sacrifice of Christ, made present at Mass, is the source of the unity of the human family, and how it places on us the duty to welcome joyfully all of God’s children, born and unborn.  Pass along to others the amazing contrast between how Jesus and the culture of death use the same words with totally opposite meanings, “This is my body.”
EWTN Mass September 14, 2010: Lift High the Cross!
EWTN Mass September 14, 2010: Lift High the Cross! The cross is the instrument of our salvation. It makes our suffering meaningful and redemptive, and reveals the meaning of life, which finds its fulfillment precisely when it is given away in love. The cross has made us the People of Life. Let’s find in the cross our strength to defend all whose lives are in danger, beginning with the unborn.
EWTN Mass September 15, 2010: Our Lady of Sorrows
EWTN Mass September 15, 2010: Our Lady of Sorrows Christians are called to live a joyful sorrow, mourning for the sins of the world but rejoicing in the victory of Christ. As our mother, Mary accompanies us in all the sorrows and joys of life.  So many mothers and fathers have sorrow for aborting their children. Mary invites them to her Son to find forgiveness and peace, and we should echo that invitation.
EWTN Mass September 16, 2010: Hold fast to the Gospel!
EWTN Mass September 16, 2010: Hold fast to the Gospel! Our salvation depends on holding fast to the Gospel as it has been handed down to us – a Gospel of mercy and of justice, which transforms both culture and politics. Holding fast to the Gospel includes being active politically, and voting for public servants who know the difference between serving the public and killing the public.
EWTN Mass September 17, 2010: I Believe in the Resurrection of the Body!
EWTN Mass September 17, 2010: I Believe in the Resurrection of the Body! The God who created body and soul also redeems and raises body and soul. Therefore we live in a way that respects our own body and the bodies of others.  One of the key ways we respect the body is to fight abortion and euthanasia. And regarding medical decisions, “The Will to Live” is an important document Priests for Life makes available to help us treat the body in ways that conform to the law of God.
EWTN Mass April 10, 2011: Untie Him and Let Him Go Free!
EWTN Mass April 10, 2011: Untie Him and Let Him Go Free! Fr. Frank reflects on the promise of resurrection, conveyed by Ezekiel, and by our Lord’s raising of Lazarus from the dead. We often think small, worrying about the unpleasant results of doing what is right. But Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, is ready to work through us to defeat the power of death. After Jesus raised Lazarus, he commanded those around him to untie him and let him go free. So today, having overcome the kingdom of death, he commands us to free our brothers and sisters from every form of injustice and violence, including abortion.
EWTN Mass April 11, 2011: Let the Sinner Turn to Me and Live!
EWTN Mass April 11, 2011: Let the Sinner Turn to Me and Live! God does not take pleasure in the death of sinners, but rather that they turn to him and live. This is clear in the way Jesus treats the woman caught in adultery. Fr. Frank explains that this act of mercy points to what the Lord does for all of us sinners through his Passion, Death, and Resurrection.  Just as Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery, so he forgives all who repent. This is evident in a marvelous way through the testimonies of men and women who have had their children aborted, and how have found forgiveness and healing. We should use those testimonies to dissuade others from abortion and to inspire new hope in those who have sinned.
EWTN Mass April 12, 2011: Strength for the Journey
EWTN Mass April 12, 2011: Strength for the Journey

The patience of God’s people wore out during the desert journey to the Promised Land, because they did not trust God enough. As we journey in faith toward heaven, we have every reason to trust in the One who said, “I AM,” and who saves us from every distress and evil.

This message gives us strength when the life of sin and unbelief may seem more attractive than life in Christ. But the Lord’s yoke is easy, his burden is light, and he gives us strength to follow him and to persevere in defending life.

EWTN Mass April 13, 2011: The Truth Will Set You Free
EWTN Mass April 13, 2011: The Truth Will Set You Free The Book of Daniel tells us of the three young men who were thrown into the fiery furnace because they were faithful to the truth that there is only one God. In our day, the truth of Jesus Christ makes us free to worship him above any earthly authority or loyalty.  As the Church teaches, any government decision that authorizes abortion is null and void, and must be disregarded by God’s people. In the freedom of the children of God, let us continue to oppose peacefully all unjust laws, and work to restore protection to the unborn.
EWTN Mass April 14, 2011: Hope Gives Rise to Life
EWTN Mass April 14, 2011: Hope Gives Rise to Life God made Abraham the father of a multitude, though he and his wife were still childless in their 90’s. They hoped in God’s promise, and that hope gave rise to life. So in our day, immersed in the hope that Jesus brings, we can reverse the evil of abortion and the entire culture of death.  Those who pray and counsel at abortion clinics are not there to harass. They are there, instead, to replace despair with hope, and to give parents the strength to care for their children. Let’s all participate, by our prayers and our presence, in the pro-life witness of the Church.
EWTN Mass April 15, 2011: Moving with Courage from Darkness to Praise
EWTN Mass April 15, 2011: Moving with Courage from Darkness to Praise Fr. Frank reflects on how the prophet Jeremiah foreshadowed Christ in the opposition he faced from those to whom he spoke, and in the confidence he had in the power of God to deliver him from his enemies. We need the same trust, leading us to courage in building a Culture of Life. In the battle for life, we will face persecution. But the plans of our enemies will not succeed. Rather than avoiding risk, let’s jump into the struggle with unfailing confidence in God’s victory.
EWTN Mass April 16, 2011: Bringing God’s People to Unity
EWTN Mass April 16, 2011: Bringing God’s People to Unity Through the prophet Ezekiel, God promised that he would gather all his dispersed children into one. That promise was fulfilled in Jesus Christ, lifted up on the cross and in the resurrection. Fr. Frank shows how this unity is centered around God’s gift of life.  There is no greater destroyer of love, unity, and peace than abortion. As we renew our faith in Christ crucified and risen, let us work to restore unity to God’s people by ending the violence of abortion.
EWTN Benediction and Devotion September 11, 2011
EWTN Benediction and Devotion September 11, 2011 Fr. Frank reflects on victory over death that we celebrate in Jesus Christ, and how the reality of the Resurrection strengthens our hope as we deal with earthly tragedies like the terrorist attacks of September 11.
EWTN Mass September 13, 2011: What We Should Remember About Our Priests
EWTN Mass September 13, 2011: What We Should Remember About Our Priests Fr. Frank reflects on the mystery and gift of the ordained priesthood, on the spiritual powers that priests have and on the sins they commit. He helps us understand why priests are called “Father” and how they are to be prophets for life and justice.

EWTN Mass September 12, 2011: For Whom Should I Vote?
EWTN Mass September 12, 2011: For Whom Should I Vote? Fr. Frank reflects on how a Christian should evaluate candidates for public office, starting with the question of whether they understand the limits of their own authority and are ready to defend human rights rather than take them away. Fr. Frank gives practical suggestions as to what kind of questions we should ask them.

EWTN Mass September 10, 2011: Build on a Solid Foundation
EWTN Mass September 10, 2011: Build on a Solid Foundation Fr. Frank reflects on Jesus’ words that we have to build our spiritual house on the solid foundation of repentance and obedience to his will. Some use God’s name to justify things that God abhors. The terrorists of Nine-Eleven invoked God’s name as they killed people. We are called to glorify God’s Name by building a culture of life and peace.

EWTN Mass September 9, 2011: Be a Slave to the Slaves
EWTN Mass September 9, 2011: Be a Slave to the Slaves Fr. Frank reflects on how the example of St. Peter Claver, who served slaves, inspires us today to serve the children in the womb. Many don’t respond urgently enough to the plight of the unborn. But it is an emergency, and we have to treat it as such.
EWTN Mass September 6, 2011: All You Need is in Jesus Christ
EWTN Mass September 6, 2011: All You Need is in Jesus Christ Fr. Frank reflects on the fact that Jesus’ ministry of healing is rooted in his mission of reconciling us to God. When we hold fast to Christ, we do not need any false teaching or superstition to give us security in life.
EWTN Mass September 11, 2011: Learning from September 11
EWTN Mass September 11, 2011: Learning from September 11 Fr. Frank reflects on the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and draws out from that tragedy the lessons we need to learn about how God jumps into our suffering, and teaches us how to sacrifice ourselves for others, for our freedom, and for Him.
