Brazilian Senator to attend National Memorial for the Pre-born

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A Brazilian senator  leading a delegation from his country at the March for Life will be a special guest at the National Memorial for the Pre-born and Their Mothers and Fathers on Jan. 22 at Constitution Hall., 1776 D. St NW at 18th Street.
Senator Magno Malta and his wife, Congresswoman Lauriete Malta, are leading a delegation of 15 that includes former Congressman Luiz Bassuma.

The National Memorial is an annual interdenominational service designed to bring Christians and clergy together in prayer before the March for Life.

Father Frank Pavone, president of the National Pro-Life Religious Council and national director of Priests for Life, will deliver the sermon. Christian music artist and Dove Award winner Matthew Ward will perform.

The service will begin with a Catholic Mass at 7:30 a.m., and the National Memorial will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m. Doors will open at 7 a.m.

Senator Malta is a lawmaker and a Christian minister for the Assemblies of God in Brazil. He and his wife are also well-known Gospel singers and recording artists.

“My wife, Congresswoman Lauriete Malta, and I will join the March for Life to thank all pro-life Americans who work to secure the fundamental human right to life. We march because we grieve the holocaust of 57 million baby Americans whose lives were taken by abortionists since the Supreme Court rulings on January 22, 1973,” Senator Magno Malta said.

Senator Malta explained that abortion is legal in Brazil if pregnancy risks the life of a mother; if the baby was conceived during rape; and for babies diagnosed with the ‘fetal deformity’ of anencephaly.

“In Brazil, people of goodwill believe in freedom for persons of all ages, born and unborn. Therefore, we are working to prevent the holocaust of innocent Brazilian babies,” the senator said. “We humbly ask God to help all Brazilians choose life, not death. Pro-life Americans have saved many lives. Still, we Brazilians must prevent a legal holocaust like those we have seen in the United States and other nations.”
