Charles Rice was a professor at the Notre Dame Law School, and came to be regarded as an authority on bioethics and the law.[1]  In his efforts to advance the pro-life cause, Professor Rice worked on creating a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution and pursued restrictions on federal funding of abortion.[2]
