I am asking you to help me ask one of our U.S. Senators, Bill Nelson the following question: Why did he not show up to vote regarding the protection of babies from painful, late-term abortions?

Now I am asking all of you reading this to follow up by leaving a message in the comments section of the Tampa Bay Times asking the same question. The article is called, “Where is Bill Nelson?”

As I said in the last alert, back in January, when the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act was on the Senate floor, he was “not present” when members voted to end the filibuster. Sixty votes were needed to bring the bill to the floor for a vote, but only 51 senators, including Sen. Marco Rubio, voted yes. Babies continue to suffer the excruciating agony of late-term abortion as a result of the Senate’s failure to enact this bill, which President Trump is willing to sign.

I mentioned in my last alert that we know about Senator Nelson’s 100% pro-abortion voting record and his endorsement by Planned Parenthood Action Fund. We also know he repeatedly voted against the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act in 2003. He voted against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in 2015 an act designed to protect babies in the womb from painful second or third-trimester abortion.

He has no trouble showing up to vote when it suits him but now that the primaries are around the corner, we deserve to know where he stands and why he didn’t vote. If he supports painful later term abortion, he should say so. And if he doesn’t, he should say that too.

Yet when the matter came up for a vote, he did not say either yes or no.

Let’s ask him why.

In this alert, I am asking every Florida resident to leave a comment on this article and ask, “Where indeed, is Bill Nelson? Why did he sit out the very important vote that would have protected babies from abortion beyond 20 weeks? We’ve asked him ourselves and we can’t get a straight answer.”

If thousands of his constituents want to know his reasoning, he might finally formulate an answer to explain his mysterious abstention.

Please act today, and please pass along this email to as many others you know who may be interested.

And thank you for being part of the Priests for Life Family!
