At first glance it may seem logical that more birth control prevents abortions, but in practice we see the opposite. In fact, every culture and subculture that has opened the doors to more contraception has seen an increase of abortion. Not to mention they are sometimes identical. In other words, some forms of “contraception” do not prevent fertilization, but rather starve the newly fertilized child by preventing her from implanting in her mother’s womb. Moreover, many people who have abortions do so because of failed contraception. In fact, the Alan Guttmacher Institute reports that about half of those getting abortions had used a contraceptive method during the month they became pregnant.
