Abortions Through Birth Control Pills and Devices
In 1998, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology
pointed out that "Methods of contraception, including emergency
contraception, prevent pregnancy by inhibiting ovulation, fertilization
and/or implantation (ACOG, 1998)."
"Implantation," of course, refers to the newly-conceived life
nestling into the uterus to receive his/her nourishment for the duration of the
pregnancy. If contraceptive methods "prevent...implantation," it
means that they kill that newly conceived child.
More and more women who have used birth control pills and
devices are coming to realize that they have actually aborted an unknown number
of children. We share some of their pain here. Healing programs like
Rachel's Vineyard provide assistance to these mothers as well.
