RE THE SUPREME COURT!

Dear Friends,
With the sudden and tragic death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia over the weekend, the nation lost one of the greatest legal minds in U.S. history and the pro-life movement lost a friend. I heard it said that what Ronald Reagan was to the Presidency, Antonin Scalia was to the Supreme Court. And I fully agree.
We all heard President Obama insist that he will pick the next Supreme Court nominee, but the most important thing we heard over the weekend was Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell vowing the Senate will not take any action on confirming an Obama appointee. That means two things: That Obama will not be able to pick another pro-abortion justice, and that it is more strikingly clear than ever how consequential the November elections are!
Sen. McConnell is being criticized by the mainstream media and his Senate colleagues across the aisle, so it’s important that we let him know how much we appreciate his unequivocal statement and that we support him. A quick call to his D.C. office can accomplish both of those things.

As you know, Priests for Life has a case in the US Supreme Court. Priests for Life vs. HHS is scheduled for oral arguments on March 23, over our refusal to abide by the Affordable Care Act’s HHS mandate. So the composition of the Court is very important to us. But the issue is bigger than that. Another Obama appointee will tilt the ideological makeup of the Court for decades to come.
