Job Opportunities With Priests for Life

At Priests for Life, we believe that because the defense of life is the most important work on earth, it should be carried out with the highest professionalism and dedication. We are therefore always looking for men and women who want to combine their professional skills with the deep satisfaction of saving lives and advancing the Culture of Life. 

Following are some specific positions currently open in the Staten Island, NY office only. 

Standard requirements for all positions 

1.  We are looking for people who can relocate to Staten Island, NY.

2.  Applicants must be highly organized and efficient, have good “people skills,” have a high-energy level, and be detail-oriented. Our office is a high-paced work environment that demands the ability to juggle multiple tasks and to meet critical deadlines. 

3. Applicants must be very familiar with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Access.

Specific positions available at this time: 

Executive Assistant 

For this position, three to five years of experience as an upper level management Administrative Assistant is mandatory.  Excellent communication skills required.  Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook is absolutely essential.  Excellent salary/benefits.  Please do not apply unless you have requisite experience as an Executive Assistant. 

Tasks include but are not limited to the following: day to day management of scheduling and appointments for top level management; interaction with pro-life, government, and Church leaders regarding joint projects, and assisting the communication between such individuals and Priests for Life management; reading through and summarizing various documents for Priests for Life management; writing drafts of responses to such communication and making recommendations; specialized filing and cataloging; research assignments;  assisting in the preparation for retreats and conferences, managing incoming and outgoing phone calls, letters, and emails and various errands; some transcribing, proofreading, scanning and faxing. 

Executive Scheduler 

The Pastoral Team of Priests for Life is committed to a constant schedule of meetings and speaking engagements throughout the nation. Our team of about 15 speakers average about two trips per week. Our Executive Schedulers manage these trips according to a detailed “Travel procedure” which includes but is not limited to the following tasks: 

·        Keeping track of incoming invitations via the travels database

·        Strategizing with travelers and Priests for Life management regarding the best use of opportunities presented by the invitations;

·        Handling all communication between Priests for Life and the inviting groups

·        Preparing detailed itineraries for the traveler and reviewing upcoming trips and invitations via weekly meetings with the traveler

·        Working to maximize the impact of trips by looking for opportunities for media outreach and other forms of publicity

·        Communicating with our travel agency regarding the booking of flights, hotels, and transportation. 

This position requires three to five years of experience as an executive or political scheduler. 

Human Resources Manager 

This position requires three to five years of experience managing the day to day needs of office staff, including such tasks as the following: 

·        Being available to staff to handle problems that may arise in communication or the proper execution of their duties

·        Communicating suggestions or problems from the staff to the Administration

·        Communicating expectations from the Administration to the staff

·        Keeping track of staff schedules, requested time off, and attendance records for payroll purposes

·        Managing staff briefings 

Correspondence - Public Outreach Associate 

Our correspondence and public outreach associates respond to inquiries from the public about Priests for Life, our resources, or various aspects of abortion and euthanasia. 

Along with the other requirements already mentioned, this person must be a good writer, be knowledgeable about the pro-life movement, and have a good phone presence. 

All correspondence and phone calls must be answered within one business day of being received, according to a detailed correspondence procedure that insures the consistency of messages from Priests for Life to the public on a wide range of topics.
