100 Days until Election Day: A To-Do List
STATEN ISLAND, NY --
For people who believe in the sanctity of all human life, Nov. 6, Election Day,
will be the most important day of the year.
“With just 100 days
to go, we all need to make sure we’re doing everything we can to encourage
friends, family members, co-workers – everyone we know -- to make plans to get out and vote,” said
Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life.
Here’s a checklist
of things everyone can do to ensure a high voter turnout.
*Organize a voter
registration drive at your church on Sept. 9,. Voter Registration Sunday (www.priestsforlife.org/vote).
*Encourage youth who
will turn 18 by Election Day to register.
*Begin making plans
for transporting senior citizens and those without transportation to the polls.
*Remind those who
will be away on Election Day to obtain absentee ballots.
*Look into early
voting rules in your state (www.priestsforlife.org/states).
*Print out the
Priests for Life Voter Guides and distribute them (www.priestsforlife.org/candidates).
*Become familiar
with candidates running at every different level of government, and find out
specifically where they stand on abortion, euthanasia and embryonic stem-cell
research.

"One of the most important things we do as Americans is to elect
public servants who know the difference between serving the public and killing
the public," Fr. Pavone said.
