Urge your senators to vote for the
Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

October 18, 2017

Dear Friends,

The pro-life majority in the U.S. House of Representatives has taken the next necessary step to end abortion in America.

On October 3rd, the House passed the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act by a vote of 237-189. On Oct. 5, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham introduced the S.B. 1922 in the U.S. Senate, where it has 45 co-sponsors.

Although no date for a vote has been announced yet, we need to act now.

Please contact your senators today and insist they vote in favor of this bill.

This bill – which protects babies because of their ability to feel pain -- has wide support among the public, has been enacted in 16 states, has the support of Congress, and is a bill the President has promised to sign. In other words,

We have the tools we need now to protect children at 20 weeks and beyond!

Therefore, we have the duty to do so right now.

We are against every abortion and are committed to protect every baby. And we are working to elect and lobby our lawmakers who will vote to protect them all. And we are getting there, step by step.

And the babies we can protect today cannot wait – they need protection now, and we can give it to them.

So we need this measure to pass the Senate. We expect the Democrats, who are pro-abortion, to block this bill by means of a filibuster. In that case, 60 votes will be needed to get past the filibuster and pass the bill. So it’s important to be in touch with every senator, regardless of his or her party.

Democrats tend to vote against anything that would protect babies from abortion – remember, most of them receive hefty campaign donations from Planned Parenthood.

But we know there have to be some who oppose the brutality and inhumanity of late-term abortion. Polling shows strong support for protecting these babies, even among self-described “pro-choice” people. Some of these Senators know that. These are the senators we need to reach, to let them know we will be watching how they vote on this. We also need to let them know that we will make this an election issue in 2018.

When you contact the offices of these senators, make sure to say that the United States is one of just seven nations in the world that allow abortion after 20 weeks – a fact the Washington Post “fact checker” confirmed just recently. “The United States should not be in that club,” Sen. Graham said as he introduced the bill. Echo that sentiment in your message to your senators, and let them know that at 20 weeks, babies in the womb can suck their thumbs, scrunch up their faces, yawn and stretch. Yet thousands of these babies – healthy babies being carried by healthy mothers – are killed every year.

We need to protect to every baby in the womb but until we can do that, let’s work hard to protect children who are developed enough to feel pain as they are torn from their mothers’ wombs.

As you click through the steps in this alert, I'll be giving you the number to call, the message to deliver, and the link to the diagrams to view and share.

Let’s seize this moment! Let Democratic senators, in particular, know that in this issue, the position of the party is much less important than the position of the people.

So please click here so that I can give you the next steps in this project.

And please share this email with everyone you know who may be interested in it! Thanks!

Sincerely,

Fr. Frank Pavone
