Call Your Governor to Demand Abortion Mills Cooperate with Coronavirus Guidelines

March 30, 2020

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all healthy and taking steps to remain that way. I am praying for all of you.

One of the ways the government is trying to deal with this pandemic is to ask medical facilities to postpone all “non-essential” procedures, so that space, personnel, and equipment can be dedicated to dealing with the virus.

But, predictably, the abortion industry has been causing a problem. They think all abortions are “essential,” and they think abortion is a fundamental right subject to no restrictions.

I’m sure you have heard that the governors of several states – such as Texas, Ohio and Mississippi, as well as others -- have declared abortion “non-essential” in their states during this Coronavirus pandemic, and ordered the abortion mills to cooperate. That is fantastic news!

On the other hand, abortion has been declared “essential” in other states, like New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Washington, Colorado, Illinois and Minnesota.

Obviously abortion is not essential and it’s typical of the abortion industry to put its profit motive ahead of the health and safety of women, their families and even abortion workers themselves!

Even women who have had abortions will say it was not medically necessary, including those who remain “pro-choice.” The abortion-friendly Guttmacher Institute has done studies on the most common reasons women have abortions and found that most make their “choice” because they don’t want their lives to change so drastically, or they have relationship problems or just don’t feel ready to be mothers at that moment.

I don’t mean to downplay fears so many women face in an unexpected pregnancy, but in a global pandemic it’s crazy and irresponsible for some politicians to suggest that abortion is in any way essential. Especially in disease hot spots like New York, Illinois and Washington!

Consider the “community transmission” of the virus possible if over 2,000 women show up for an abortion every day, as is the norm in normal times. Each woman is then exposed to all the abortion business workers, all the other women and their companions in the waiting room, and the abortionists themselves. At least three abortionists have already reported that they have the virus!

Abortions also require medical equipment – masks, blood products and other supplies.

God forbid a woman is sent to the hospital after a botched abortion! A healthy woman with a healthy pregnancy now finds herself hospitalized and at much greater risk of catching COVID19. This is insanity.

The abortion lobby says pro-lifers are just exploiting the pandemic for political gain. That’s absurd. But I will be the first to offer prayers of thanksgiving for every baby saved in states where the procedure has been ordered to a stop.

We need more governors to take the courageous and necessary stop of insisting that the abortion industry follow the guidelines that all the legitimate branches of medicine are also following: no non-essential procedures!

And this is where we need you!

I am asking you to call your governor’s office to say abortion is not essential and to urge him or her to order abortion businesses to comply with the guidelines that have been issued to slow down this pandemic.

Please let your governor hear from you today.

Thank you and God bless you!
