Tell the Biden Administration what you think of their abortion advocacy
August 24, 2023
Dear Friends,
Last year, Congress passed a bipartisan bill called the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act to require employers to give special accommodation to pregnant women. Biden signed the bill and it was enacted earlier this summer.
Now the abortion-extremist-in-chief wants to add an accommodation for women having abortions. As the Wall Street Journal wrote in an editorial, the rule change is a way to force employers to “underwrite abortion.”
The rule, as written, passed and enacted, requires employers to make temporary “reasonable accommodations” for “pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions” as long as they don’t impose an “undue hardship” on employers.
“Some Republicans worried that the Administration would stretch the law to require employers to make accommodations for women seeking abortions,” the Wall Street Journal wrote. But Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey “assured them on the Senate floor last December that the EEOC under the law could not issue any regulation that requires abortion leave.’ The EEOC now says it can.”
The proposed rule change would define abortion as a medical condition related to pregnancy and child birth, and require employers to provide time off and possibly even pay travel expenses for women who live in states where laws protect babies from abortion.
The rule has not been finalized yet, and that’s why I’m contacting you. The EEOC is accepting public comment until Oct. 10. This is required by law – citizens must be given the chance to weigh in on a change like this.
I would like you to log on to the website and tell EEOC that you unequivocally oppose this proposed change. If you are a business owner, please detail how this would impact you financially, in addition to forcing you to violate your deeply held beliefs that abortion is always wrong.
Can I count on you to do that?
You don’t have to be an expert; your comments don’t have to be long or complicated – just sincere and clear. Tell them you oppose this proposal.
Click on this link to let us know that you will help and then you will be taken to a page where you can find the right place to leave a comment.
Please act as soon as you can, keeping in sight the Oct. 10 deadline, and please pass along this email to as many others you know who may be interested.
