Offer a spiritual bouquet for Pope Leo XIV for his birthday
September 4, 2025
Dear Friends,
Pope Leo XIV will celebrate his 70th birthday on Sept. 14. For his first birthday as the Vicar of Christ, we would like to offer him a spiritual bouquet.
I have written a special prayer for him which I will share with you after you click through this email, and I hope you will join me in saying it regularly. I also hope you will send me your own spiritual bouquets for him—Holy Hours, Rosaries, Masses, other prayers and sacrifices. I am gathering these to send to him as a gift from our Priests for Life family.
Since the beginning of his papacy in May, Pope Leo has clearly articulated the Church's opposition to abortion, emphasizing the inherent dignity of the unborn. His public statements and past involvement in pro-life groups show a consistent stance against abortion, which he often links to the abandonment of the weak and vulnerable, a view that aligns with historical Catholic teaching.
The pope has said the unborn, like the elderly, are God's creatures who must be respected and protected. He believes a just society cannot be built if it discards the weakest, including children in the womb.
Our new pontiff also supports the work of Rachel’s Vineyard, the world’s largest ministry for healing after abortion. In 2019, our Rachel’s Vineyard team in Peru met with then-Monsignor Prevost to ask for his blessing and support for a new site in the Diocese of Lima.
In bestowing that blessing, he said, “Whatever you do, may God always be the center. Respect the order of love. And never stray from the truth."
Like the pope, Priests for Life’s Pastoral Associate Fr. Denis Wilde, O.S.A., is also an Augustinian and was a professor of music at Villanova when Pope Leo was a seminarian there. Fr. Denis knew him personally and shared that the young man was an influential member of Villanovans for Life, which promoted the pro-life message on campus and is still going strong today. The pope’s heart and mind were with the pro-life cause then, and this still shines through in his preaching.
Here are some beautiful ways we can lift him up to the Lord in prayer:
- Commit to a specific amount of time to Bible reading and prayer for him.
- Commit to praying a specific number of rosaries for Pope Leo.
- Attend Mass and offer your intentions for him.
- Spend an hour in Adoration.
- Offer a day of fasting or give up a favorite treat.
- Encourage children to offer up their chores as a prayer for our new pope.
- Gather your family for a special prayer service, lifting up Pope Leo.
Let your voice be part of this beautiful gift. Your prayers and intentions will be lovingly gathered and sent to the pope.
When you click on this link, you’ll be taken to a form where you can tell us how you plan to be part of this spiritual bouquet. We will make sure he receives your bouquet through our contacts at the Vatican.
Thank you in advance for helping to make Pope Leo’s first birthday as pontiff a deeply meaningful one.
And please share this email with anyone you think may be interested!
Regards,

Prolife Leader Frank Pavone
